Space charge regions at silver halide surfaces: Effects of divalent impurities and halogen pressure

TL;DR: In this paper, the model first proposed by Poeppel and Blakely to account for equilibrium space charge regions in ionic crystals is extended to include effects of mobile divalent impurities.

Space charge regions at silver halide surfaces: Experimental results for undoped AgCl

TL;DR: In this paper, the Gibbs free energies of AgCl single crystals of surface orientation (100, 210, and 111) were derived for the formation of vacancy in free surfaces. But the results have large absolute uncertainties but the relative values for the different orientations are reliable and can be used to calculate the magnitude and sign of the surface space charge fields.
