Solar wind electron density and temperature over solar cycle 23: Thermal noise measurements on Wind

TL;DR: In this article, the solar wind plasma parameters obtained from the Wind spacecraft during more than nine years, encompassing almost the whole solar cycle 23, are presented and discussed histograms of such measurements performed from 1994 to 2003.
Journal ArticleDOI

Terrestrial low-frequency bursts: Escape paths of radio waves through the bow shock

TL;DR: In this article, an interpretation of the frequency-time characteristics including the low frequency cutoff of the LF burst spectra was proposed to sound the bow shock structure at large tailward distances from Earth.
Journal Article

ISEE-3 observations of the earth's radio continuum through the bow shock and magnetosheath and in the magnetosphere

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the solar wind, the bow shock, the magnetosheath, and the magnetopause on the propagation of the NTC were studied, and it was found that the relative values of the low frequency cut-off in the SINR and in the magnetosphere are due to an unusually high density overshoot in the bow-shock, 7 to 11 times the solar-wind density, which explains most of the decrease in the source angular size when the observer travels away from the earth.
