Effect of electric fields on the propagation speed of tribrachial flames in coflow jets

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of electric fields on the propagation speed of tribrachial (or triple) flames has been investigated in a coflow jet by observing the transient flame propagation behavior after ignition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electric fields effect on liftoff and blowoff of nonpremixed laminar jet flames in a coflow

TL;DR: In this article, the stabilization characteristics of nonpremixed laminar jet flames in a coflow have been investigated experimentally for propane fuel by applying AC and DC electric fields to the fuel nozzle with a single-electrode configuration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discrete Dipole Approximation Calculations of Optical Properties of Silver Nanorod Arrays in Porous Anodic Alumina

TL;DR: In this article, the extinction spectrum of 38 nm long silver nanorods grown in the 22 nm pores of an anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template was theoretically analyzed, using the discrete dipole approxima.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extinction of interacting nonpremixed flames and existence of stationary retreating edges in twin-jet counterflow

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-dimensional "twin-jet counterflow" burner was used to investigate the effect of the interaction of non-premixed flames on extinction behavior, and it was shown that owing to the existence of unique petal-shaped flames, the extinction boundary for the cross-stream arrangement can be extended appreciably, as compared with that for the conventional counterflow arrangement.
