Journal ArticleDOI

Manufacturing new ceramic materials from clay and red mud derived from the aluminium industry

TL;DR: In this article, the optimal proportion of red mud to clay was found to be 50% and the results were analyzed using XRD to determine the crystalline phases generated, and the microstructure was analyzed using a scanning electron microscope.
Journal ArticleDOI

Valorization and inertization of galvanic sludge waste in clay bricks

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the amount of Galvanic sludge wastes (GSW) was evaluated after firing three types of raw clay (red, yellow and black) in equal parts with GSW.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of use of coal fly ash in eco-friendly construction materials: fired clay bricks and silica-calcareous non fired bricks

TL;DR: In this paper, the use of coal fly ash (CFA) as raw material for the manufacture of two construction materials, fired clay bricks and silica-calcareous non-fired bricks, was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Valorization of biodiesel production residues in making porous clay brick

TL;DR: In this article, the use of waste produced in biodiesel production plants, as spent earth from biodiesel filtration and the byproduct of glycerine, in producing lightweight structural bricks have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of vitreous phase on mullite and mullite-based ceramic composites from kaolin wastes as by-products of mining, sericite clays and kaolinite

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal behavior of these mullite precursors was investigated and it was concluded that the thermal behaviour was influenced by the presence of impurities in the raw materials, which produced a progressive and enhanced densification of the mullite materials by reaction sintering at 1500-1600°C.
