Asteroseismology of old open clusters with Kepler: direct estimate of the integrated RGB mass loss in NGC6791 and NGC6819
Andrea Miglio,K. Brogaard,D. Stello,William J. Chaplin,F. D'Antona,Josefina Montalbán,S. Basu,Alessandro Bressan,Frank Grundahl,Marc H. Pinsonneault,A. M. Serenelli,Yvonne Elsworth,S. Hekker,T. Kallinger,B. Mosser,Paolo Ventura,Alfio Bonanno,Arlette Noels,V. Silva-Aguirre,Róbert Szabó,Jie Li,S. McCauliff,Christopher K. Middour,H. Kjeldsen +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the masses of 40 stars on the RGB and 19 in the RC of the old metal-rich cluster NGC6791 and NGC6819 and found that the difference between the average mass of RGB and RC stars is small, but significant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Initial Characteristics of Kepler Short Cadence Data
Ronald L. Gilliland,Jon M. Jenkins,William J. Borucki,S. T. Bryson,Douglas A. Caldwell,B. D. Clarke,Jessie L. Dotson,Michael R. Haas,Jennifer R. Hall,Todd C. Klaus,David G. Koch,S. McCauliff,Elisa V. Quintana,Joseph D. Twicken,J. Van Cleve +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the characteristics of Short Cadence (SC) data obtained in the 33.5-day long Quarter 1 (Q1) observations with Kepler which completed on 15 June 2009.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation of Kepler lightcurves for asteroseismic analyses
R. A. Garcia,S. Hekker,D. Stello,Juan Gutiérrez-Soto,Rasmus Handberg,Daniel Huber,Christoffer Karoff,K. Uytterhoeven,T. Appourchaux,William J. Chaplin,Yvonne Elsworth,Savita Mathur,J. Ballot,J. Christensen-Dalsgaard,R. L. Gilliland,G. Houdek,J. M. Jenkins,H. Kjeldsen,S. McCauliff,T. S. Metcalfe,Christopher K. Middour,J. Molenda-Zakowicz,Mário J. P. F. G. Monteiro,Jeffrey C. Smith,Michael Thompson +24 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe processing procedures developed by the Kepler Asteroseismic Science Consortium (KASC) to prepare light curves that are optimized for the solar-like oscillating stars in which outliers, jumps and drifts are corrected.
Kepler: A Search for Terrestrial Planets - Kepler Data Characterization Handbook
Jeffrey Van Cleve,J. L. Christiansen,J. M. Jenkins,D. A. Caldwell,Thomas Barclay,S. T. Bryson,Christopher J. Burke,Jennifer R. Campbell,Joseph Catanzarite,B. D. Clarke,Jeffrey L. Coughlin,Forrest R. Girouard,Michael R. Haas,Todd C. Klaus,Jeffrey Kolodziejczak,J. Li,S. McCauliff,Robert L. Morris,Fergal Mullally,Elisa V. Quintana,Jason F. Rowe,Anima Sabale,S. E. Seader,Jeffrey C. Smith,Martin Still,P. Tenenbaum,Susan E. Thompson,J. D. Twicken,Akm Kamal Uddin,Khadeejah A. Zamudio +29 more
TL;DR: The Kepler Data Characteristics Handbook (KDCH) as mentioned in this paper provides a description of all phenomena identified in the Kepler data throughout the mission, and an explanation for how these characteristics are handled by the final version of the Kepler Data Processing Pipeline (SOC 9.3).
