The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new technology which is rapidly gaining popularity. It has a large number of smart devices that can communicate with each other through the internet. IoT devices are used to make people's lives simpler in several areas. The Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) communication protocol is proposed in this paper for real-time acquisition of medical data to the server. Different portable devices (Sensors) in medical applications have been used for measuring vital signs (Temperature, Blood Pressure, Respiration rate, Pulse rate, Electrocardiogram etc.) of livestock. These sensors will give a series of information or data about the vital signs. These intelligent devices are used to collect data from various sensors, which are used in healthcare to assess a live stock's health. Here, the proposed work measures the temperature of livestock using novel non-invasive Infrared (IR) thermometry technique, after these measured temperature values will be automatically stored in the server with the help of Raspberry Pi with necessary timings using Bio-inspired mimosa pudica algorithm. This data was uploaded to the cloud, and then uploaded the measured data to an MQTT server. This system allows the doctor to keep an eye on his patient at any time and from any place. Security will be provided by the MQTT and it is also completed by interfacing web-based online monitoring. This work concludes the enhancement of data quality and increasing the security of data transfer using the MQTT protocol.

Monitoring body temperature of cattle using an innovative infrared photodiode thermometer

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has created a booming evolution in the past decade. These networks are characterized by their coverage over a large area with small connected sensors. Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) comes as a subset of WSN. In this type of network, the sensors are deployed over the body of the patient to analyze and collect data regarding various parameters like temperature pressure, etc. The design parameters of antennas are compared in this paper along with the design parameters that is required for designing an antenna in the terahertz frequency range. Various methods that can be used to enhance the performance matrix of the antenna are also discussed. 

A Survey on Design Parameters of Antenna in Terahertz Wireless Body Area Networks

The evolution of technology in the healthcare sector has been extensively studied in recent years. More specifically, Internet of Things (IoT) has demonstrated the ability to connect a variety of medical devices and sensors; however, professionals in health care are required to provide high-quality medical care in remote areas. Diabetes, a chronic metabolic illness, is a problem that is spreading quickly over the world today. This paper provides the chronic disease of diabetic glucose level monitoring by using IR sensors as well as other healthcare services like heart rate, SpO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> levels and body temperature by using Arduino-UNO and results can be sent through message to the doctor and store the data into the cloud and also displayed on the LCD monitor.

Heart Rate Monitoring Using IoT and AI

In the last few years there has been a growing interest in Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) due to its latency and enhance the health care features by continuously monitoring the condition of the patient and early identification of problems. A major difficulty has been occurring to design network such as Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol that primarily part of the WBANs for functioning in a well-organized way. Therefore, it limits the sensor node energy for Quality of Service (QOS) and life cycle of the network. Accordingly, this work introduces a Versatile Synchronization Guard Band Protocol (VSGP) namely VSGP, which deals with guard band (GB) in each time slot it reduces the interference of the transmitting signal and increase the efficiency of QOS and its energy. WBAN performed with more number of sensor nodes are connected to the coordinator. VSGP protocol is compared with two existing methods called Self Adaptive Guard Band (SAGB) and Traditional Guard Band protocol. Comparisons are made with time and packet flow of each transmission and energy per packet flow.
