Enzymatic methods of analysis

TL;DR: An increase in the specificity of enzyme systems for the determination of pesticides is possible due to the effect of fifteen different pesticides including carbamates, chlorinated hydrocarbons and organophosphurus compounds on cholinesterase.
Journal ArticleDOI

An improved electrode for the assay of urea in blood

TL;DR: An improved urea enzyme electrode applied for the determination of urea in blood samples showed good agreement with a standard spectrophotometric method, and routine clinical assays of blood urea are feasible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluorimetric determination of oxidative enzymes. Analytical applications of the monoamine and diamine oxidase systems.

TL;DR: Fluorescence methods for the assay of the oxidative enzymes, monoamine and diamine oxidase are described in this article, based on the conversion of the non-fluorescent p -hydroxyphenylacetic acid to a highly fluorescent fluorophore by hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pesticides on liver cholinesterases from rabbit, pigeon, chicken, sheep and pig.

TL;DR: None of these enzymes was inhibited by any of the chlorinated pesticides, and pigeon and sheep liver cholinesterase were not inhibited by Sevin, but some selectivity of the enzyme systems for the determination of pesticides is possible.
