Journal ArticleDOI

Cross-reactivity between penicillins and cephalosporins: Clinical and immunologic studies☆

TL;DR: It is concluded that consideration of side chain structures can help to predict possible cross-reactions between penicillins and cephalosporins, but carefully controlled challenge tests are advisable before penicillin-allergic patients are treated with cep Khaloridine.
Journal ArticleDOI

New aspects of allergic reactions to betalactams: crossreactions and unique specificities

TL;DR: While crossreaction between penicillins may be extensive for some patients the situation is much more complex because of the increased number of new betalactam antibiotics available and their frequency of use, whilst other studies highlight that some patients are allergic to some classes of betalaetam antibiotics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nonimmediate reactions to betalactams: prevalence and role of the different penicillins.

TL;DR: The high percentage of subjects in this group who showed delayed skin test responses, taken together with the biopsy results, suggests that a lymphocyte‐mediated reaction occurred, and the possibility that other mechanisms may also have been involved cannot be ruled out.
Journal Article

Angioedema and IgE antibodies to aspirin: a case report.

TL;DR: The follow-up of this case shows that in a short period of time the level of specific IgE antibody decreases to undetectable levels similar to the negative control population.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anaphylaxis to amoxycillin but good tolerance for benzyl penicillin. In vivo and in vitro studies of specific IgE antibodies.

TL;DR: Three patients are reported on who suffered anaphylactic reactions after amoxycillin (AX) treatment and challenge but tolerated benzylpenicillin (BP) parenterally and orally.
