Silvia Ramundo,Yukari Asakura,Patrice A. A. Salom eacute,Daniela Strenkert,Morgane Boone,Luke C. M. Mackinder,Kazuaki Takafuji,Emine Dinc,Mich egravele Rahire,Mich egravele Cr egravevecoeur,Leonardo Magneschi,Olivier Schaad,Michael Hippler,Martin C. Jonikas,Sabeeha S. Merchant,Masato Nakai,Jean-David Rochaix,Peter Walter +17 more
TL;DR: This work combines transcriptomic, biochemical, and genetic tools in the green alga Chlamydomonas to demonstrate that, despite a lack of evident sequence conservation for some of its components, the algal TICcomplex mirrors the molecular composition of a TIC complex from Arabidopsis thaliana.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Plant Cell Celebrates 30 Years of Publishing the Best Work in Plant Biology
TL;DR: As Bob Goldberg, founding editor, noted upon the 20th anniversary of The Plant Cell in 2009, 1989 was a year of major change: not just for the world (“the Iron Curtain came down, the Berlin Wall crumbled, the Cold War ended…”), but also for science.
Book ChapterDOI
Physiological Factors Affecting the Accumulation of Plastocyanin, Cytochrome c-552, and a 30-kD Soluble Protein in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii
TL;DR: This work has shown that, depending on the availability of Cu in the growth medium, either the Cu-protein plastocyanin (PC) or the heme-protein cytochrome c-552 of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii can function as electron carriers between the cyt b6/f complex and PSI.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Plant Cell Introduces Breakthrough Reports: A New Forum for Cutting-Edge Plant Research
Sabeeha S. Merchant,Sebastian Y. Bednarek,James A. Birchler,George Coupland,Nancy A. Eckardt,Pascal Genschik,Jean T. Greenberg,Joseph J. Kieber,Daniel J. Kliebenstein,Barry J. Pogson,David R. Smyth +10 more
TL;DR: A new category of research article, which is called Breakthrough Reports, is introduced to provide a home for exploratory articles on mechanistic and conceptual aspects of plant biology.
