Journal ArticleDOI
Objective assessment of blood and lymphatic vessel invasion and association with macrophage infiltration in cutaneous melanoma
Sarah J. Storr,Sabreena Safuan,Angana Mitra,Faye Elliott,Christopher Walker,Mark J. Vasko,Bernard Chi-Shern Ho,Martin G. Cook,Rabab Mohammed,Rabab Mohammed,Poulam M. Patel,Ian O. Ellis,Julia Newton-Bishop,Stewart G. Martin +13 more
TL;DR: The association of vessel characteristics with histological characteristics of the primary melanoma provides evidence for their biological importance in melanoma, but that they were not associated with clinical outcome attests to the value of existing histological prognostic biomarkers.
Journal ArticleDOI
A single mass gathering resulted in massive transmission of COVID-19 infections in Malaysia with further international spread.
TL;DR: From this cluster, 1701 samples have been tested positive out of 21 920 tests carried out, thus, mass gathering during COVID-19 pandemic period should be banned to curb disease transmission.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aging of the cells: Insight into cellular senescence and detection Methods
TL;DR: Different types of cellular senescence including replicativesenescence (RS) which occurs due to telomere shortening and stress induced premature senescences (SIPS), which occurs in response to different types of stress in cells, are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calpain system protein expression in basal-like and triple-negative invasive breast cancer
Sarah J. Storr,K.W. Lee,Caroline M. Woolston,Sabreena Safuan,Andrew R. Green,RD Macmillan,Ahmed Benhasouna,Tim Parr,Ian O. Ellis,Stewart G. Martin +9 more
TL;DR: Results show that the expression of calpastatin and calpain-1 are significantly associated with various clinicopathological criteria including tumour grade and ER expression, and Expression of the large catalytic subunit of m-calpain (calpain-2) is significantly associated of patients with triple-negative and basal-like disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calpain‐2 expression is associated with response to platinum based chemotherapy, progression‐free and overall survival in ovarian cancer
Sarah J. Storr,Sabreena Safuan,Caroline M. Woolston,Tarek M. A. Abdel-Fatah,Suha Deen,Stephen Chan,Stewart G. Martin +6 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that determining calpain‐2 expression in ovarian carcinomas may allow prognostic stratification of patients treated with surgery and platinum‐based chemotherapy and warrant validation in a larger clinical cohort.
