Crop type mapping in a highly fragmented and heterogeneous agricultural landscape
TL;DR: The utility of Landsat 8 imagery data for crop type mapping in a highly fragmented and heterogeneous agricultural landscape in Najaf-Abad Hydrological Unit, Iran is explored to explore the utility of images and classification methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparing different classification algorithms for monitoring mangrove cover changes in southern Iran
Neda Bihamta Toosi,Neda Bihamta Toosi,Alireza Soffianian,Sima Fakheran,Saeid Pourmanafi,Christian Ginzler,Lars T. Waser +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated and compared four supervised classification algorithms based on Landsat time series imagery to detect mangrove cover in southern Iran, and compared the four different predictions resulting from the applied classification algorithms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Habitat mapping as a tool for water birds conservation planning in an arid zone wetland: The case study Hamun wetland
Saeideh Maleki,Saeideh Maleki,Alireza Soffianian,Saeid Soltani Koupaei,Sassan Saatchi,Saeid Pourmanafi,Farid Sheikholeslam +6 more
TL;DR: A spatial conservation prioritization approach based on remote sensing and geographical information system to identify areas of a wetland which require special protective measures during waterbirds' breeding season was developed in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
The study of thermal pattern changes using Landsat-derived land surface temperature in the central part of Isfahan province
TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted in the central part of Isfahan province to investigate changes in thermal patterns during 1985-2015 time period, which demonstrated that impervious surfaces had been increased by 2.8 times from 1985 to 2015.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analyzing the effects of urban expansion on land surface temperature patterns by landscape metrics: a case study of Isfahan city, Iran
TL;DR: Investigation of the effects of changes in LULC due to the expansion of the city of Isfahan on LST using landscape metrics showed that LULC changes due to urban expansion changed such landscape properties as the percentage of landscape, patch density, large patch index, and aggregation index.
