MR and proton spectroscopy of white matter disease induced by high-dose chemotherapy with bone marrow transplant in advanced breast carcinoma
Mark S. Brown,Jack H. Simon,Salomon M. Stemmer,John C. Stears,Ann Scherzinger,Pablo J. Cagnoni,Roy B. Jones +6 more
TL;DR: Extensive, late-stage white matter change induced by high-dose chemotherapy is not accompanied by measurable disturbances in the putative neuronal marker N-acetyl aspartate, suggesting that chemotherapy-induced white matter disease is predominantly a water space and possibly an extraneuronal process rather than a primary neuronal (axonal) disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chemotherapy-Induced Ovarian Failure as a Prototype for Acute Vascular Toxicity
Irit Ben-Aharon,Israel Meizner,Israel Meizner,Tal Granot,Shiri Uri,Noa Hasky,Shulamith Rizel,Rinat Yerushalmi,Aaron Sulkes,Salomon M. Stemmer +9 more
TL;DR: A mechanism of chemotherapy-induced ovarian toxicity manifested by decreased ovarian blood flow accompanied by a reduction in ovarian size and diminished post-treatment AMH levels may imply a generalized phenomenon of end-organ toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preoperative chemoradiation in rectal cancer: Retrospective comparison between capecitabine and continuous infusion of 5-fluorouracil.
Rinat Yerushalmi,Rinat Yerushalmi,Efraim Idelevich,Ygael Dror,Salomon M. Stemmer,Salomon M. Stemmer,Arie Figer,Arie Figer,Aaron Sulkes,Aaron Sulkes,Baruch Brenner,Baruch Brenner,David Loven,Zeev Dreznik,Zeev Dreznik,Israel L. Nudelman,Israel L. Nudelman,Adi Shani,Eyal Fenig,Eyal Fenig +19 more
TL;DR: The efficacy and toxicity of oral capecitabine and continuous infusion of 5‐fluorouracil in the preoperative chemoradiation treatment of patients with rectal cancer are compared.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bisphosphonates in the adjuvant setting of breast cancer therapy--effect on survival: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Irit Ben-Aharon,Irit Ben-Aharon,Liat Vidal,Liat Vidal,Shulamith Rizel,Rinat Yerushalmi,Rinat Yerushalmi,Ofer Shpilberg,Ofer Shpilberg,Aaron Sulkes,Aaron Sulkes,Salomon M. Stemmer,Salomon M. Stemmer +12 more
TL;DR: A meta-analysis of all randomized controlled trials that appraised the effects of BP in early BC indicates a positive effect for adjuvant BP on survival only in postmenopausal patients, and meta-regression demonstrated a negative association between chemotherapy use BP effect on survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
814MO Phase II study of olaparib (O) plus durvalumab (D) and bevacizumab (B) (MEDIOLA): Initial results in patients (pts) with non-germline BRCA-mutated (non-gBRCAm) platinum sensitive relapsed (PSR) ovarian cancer (OC)
