Genomic Snapshot of SARS-CoV-2 in Migrants Entering Through Mediterranean Sea Routes
Nicole Grandi,Bianca Paglietti,Roberto Cusano,Gabriele Ibba,Vincenzo Francesco Lai,Claudia Piu,Flavia Angioj,Caterina Serra,David J. Kelvin,Enzo Tramontano,Salvatore Rubino +10 more
TL;DR: This study characterized the SARS-CoV-2 genome isolated from an asymptomatic migrant arrived in Sardinia via the Mediterranean route in September 2020, and showed that the sequence is not phylogenetically related to isolate from migrants arriving in Sicily, nor to isolates circulating in Sardinian territory, in line with the hypothesis that most Sars-Cov-2 infections among migrants have been acquired prior to embarking to Italy.
Journal ArticleDOI
An Algerian perspective on non-typhoidal Salmonella infection.
TL;DR: A perspective on NTS infection, pathogenesis and antimicrobial resistance with a focus on the epidemiology of salmonellosis in Algeria is supplied.
Emerging Problems in Infectious Diseases ZIKATracker: A mobile App for reporting cases of ZIKV worldwide
Alyson A. Kelvin,David Banner,Luciano Pamplona,Carlos Henrique Alencar,Salvatore Rubino,Anton Breinl +5 more
TL;DR: ZIKATracker (zikatracker.net) as mentioned in this paper is a mobile application that can be used to report ZIKV cases on a public or private level, which can help direct the implementation of mosquito control measures in needed areas and bring aid to those affected by the Zika virus.

Antonella Santona,Najwa A. Mhmoud,Emmanuel Edwar Siddig,Massimo Deligios,Maura Fiamma,Bianca Paglietti,Sahar Mubarak Bakhiet,Salvatore Rubino,Ahmed H. Fahal +8 more
TL;DR: DNA sequencing targeting the fungal ITS2 domain was performed on soil, animal dung, housing walls and roofs, and Acacia-species thorn samples and compared with culture-dependent methods of fungal isolation and metagenomics found M. mycetomatis and other eumycetoma-associated fungal identified in the patients’ black grains samples by meetagenomics were identified inThe environmental samples.
