Journal ArticleDOI
Erythropoietin and retinoic acid, secreted from the epicardium, are required for cardiac myocyte proliferation.
TL;DR: It is postulate that the epicardium controls normal heart growth in ventricular segments of the embryonic chick heart by secreting a cardiac myocyte mitogen whose expression (or activity) is regulated by both RA and erythropoietin signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Employment impacts of renewable energy policies in China: A decomposition analysis based on a CGE modeling framework
TL;DR: In this article, the authors quantified the full scope of job changes brought by renewable energy development in China and showed that the scale of induced job changes is quite significant and may even lead to net job losses in the whole economy in some cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
SMAD-mediated modulation of YY1 activity regulates the BMP response and cardiac-specific expression of a GATA4/5/6-dependent chick Nkx2.5 enhancer.
TL;DR: The data suggest that BMP-mediated activation of this regulatory region reflects both the induction of GATA genes by BMP signals, as well as modulation of the transcriptional activity of YY1 by direct interaction of this transcription factor with B MP-activated SMADs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Core commitments for field trials of gene drive organisms.

Scott,Jolene T. Sutton,Adam E. Vorsino,Omar S. Akbari +43 more
TL;DR: Significant commitments are outlined that are deemed critical for responsible conduct of a field trial and to ensure that these technologies, if they are introduced, serve the public interest.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low carbon growth in China: The role of emissions trading in a transitioning economy
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use a dynamic computable general equilibrium (CGE) model of China's economy to simulate the interaction between a structural transition policy and a national carbon dioxide emissions trading system (ETS), which will be the largest ETS in the world.
