María G. Crespo-Leiro,Marco Metra,Lars H. Lund,Davor Milicic,Maria Rosa Costanzo,Gerasimos Filippatos,Finn Gustafsson,Steven Tsui,Eduardo Barge-Caballero,Nicolaas de Jonge,Maria Frigerio,Righab Hamdan,Tal Hasin,Martin Hülsmann,Sanem Nalbantgil,Luciano Potena,Johann Bauersachs,A. Gkouziouta,Arjang Ruhparwar,Arsen D. Ristić,Ewa Straburzyńska-Migaj,Theresa McDonagh,Petar M. Seferović,Frank Ruschitzka +23 more
TL;DR: There is an urgent need to develop evidence‐based treatment algorithms to prolong life when possible and in accordance with patient preferences, increase life quality, and reduce the burden of hospitalization in this vulnerable patient population.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mustafa Özbaran,Serdar Bedii Omay,Sanem Nalbantgil,Hakan Kültürsay,Kamil Kumanlioglu,Deniz Nart,Erman Pektok +6 more
TL;DR: This approach opens a new window in the treatment of 'no hope' patients with congestive heart failure by transplanting peripheral stem cells into areas of injury with open-heart surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of hospital-based versus home-based exercise training in patients with heart failure: effects on functional capacity, quality of life, psychological symptoms, and hemodynamic parameters
Hale Karapolat,Emre Demir,Yasemin Turan Bozkaya,Sibel Eyigör,Sanem Nalbantgil,Berrin Durmaz,Mehdi Zoghi +6 more
TL;DR: Both the hospital-based and home-based exercise groups improved significantly in functional capacity, quality of life, depression symptoms, and LVEF and it is believed that physicians can recommend home- based exercise under strict supervision for stable HF patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Randomised Comparison of the Effects of Nebivolol and Atenolol with and without Chlorthalidone on the Sexual Function of Hypertensive Men
Bahar Boydak,Sanem Nalbantgil,Francesco Fici,Istemi Nalbantgil,Mehdi Zoghi,Filiz Özerkan,Istemihan Tengiz,Ertugrul Ercan,Hasan Yilmaz,Umit Yoket,Remzi Önder +10 more
TL;DR: Increased release of nitric oxide associated with nebivolol may counteract the detrimental effect of β-blockade on penile erection, thereby allowing maintenance of sexual activity in previously untreated hypertensive men compared with a significant decrease observed in the sexual activity of men receiving atenolol-based treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of the cardiac rehabilitation program in patients with end-stage heart failure, heart transplant patients, and left ventricular assist device recipients.
Hale Karapolat,Çağatay Engin,M. Eroglu,Tahir Yagdi,Mehdi Zoghi,Sanem Nalbantgil,Berrin Durmaz,Yesim Kirazli,Mustafa Özbaran +8 more
TL;DR: An 8-week supervised exercise program was observed to improve functional capacity, PFT, QOL, and depression among patients who had HF, HTx, or LVAD.
