Abstract: An investigation is made of the dependence of Hall coefficient, Hall mobility, and coefficient of magnetoresistance in CdS on electric field, magnetic field, and scattering mechanisms. The scattering of carriers by acoustic mode of lattice scattering as well as piezoelectric potential is considered. Die Abhangigkeit des Hallkoeffizienten, der Hallbeweglichkeit und des Koeffizienten der magnetischen Widerstandsanderung vom elektrischen und magnetischen Feld und vom Streumechanismus in CdS wird untersucht. Die Streuung der Ladungstrager durch akustische Moden der Gitterstreuung sowie durch piezoelektrische Potentiale wird berucksichtigt.

Abstract: The generation of microwave second harmonic and sum and difference frequency has been investigated analytically when two microwaves of frequencies ω 1 and ω 2 are incident normally on a semiconducting slab in the presence of a d.c. field. The analysis takes into account acoustic phonon scattering as well as ionized impurity scattering of electrons. For a typical case of germanium slab the amplitudes of reflected and transmitted components of second harmonic waves are 8.8% and 5.4% respectively of that of the fundamental wave.
