Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of new 2-substituted-5- [2-(2-fluorophenoxy)phenyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles and 1,2,4-triazoles.
Ali Almasirad,Sayyed Abbas Tabatabai,Mehrdad Faizi,Abbas Kebriaeezadeh,Nazila Mehrabi,Afshin Dalvandi,Abbas Shafiee +6 more
TL;DR: A series of new 2-substituted-5-[2-(2-fluorophenoxy)phenyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles has been synthesized and screened for their anticonvulsant activities and it seems that this effect is mediated by benzodiazepine receptors and other unknown mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of new 2-substituted-5-(2-benzyloxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles.
Afshin Zarghi,Sayyed Abbas Tabatabai,Mehrdad Faizi,Avideh Ahadian,Parisa Navabi,Vahideh Zanganeh,Abbas Shafiee +6 more
TL;DR: A series of new 2-substituted-5-(2-benzyloxyphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles have been synthesized and evaluated as anticonvulsant agents and it seems this effect is mediated through benzodiazepine receptors mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design and synthesis of 4H-3-(2-Phenoxy)phenyl-1,2,4-triazole derivatives as benzodiazepine receptor agonists
Tahmineh Akbarzadeh,Sayyed Abbas Tabatabai,Mohammad Javad Khoshnoud,Bijan Shafaghi,Abbas Shafiee +4 more
TL;DR: A series of new 5-substituted analogues of 4H-3-(2-phenoxy)phenyl-1,2,4-triazole and its chlorinated derivatives revealed that the main proposed benzodiazepine pharmacophores were well matched.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design and synthesis of new 2-substituted-5-(2-benzylthiophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles as benzodiazepine receptor agonists.
Afshin Zarghi,Mehrdad Faizi,Bijan Shafaghi,Avideh Ahadian,Hamid R. Khojastehpoor,Vahideh Zanganeh,Sayyed Abbas Tabatabai,Abbas Shafiee +7 more
TL;DR: Electroshock and pentylenetetrazole-induced lethal convulsion tests showed that the introduction of an amino group in position 2 of 1,3,4-oxadiazole ring and a fluoro substituent at para position of benzylthio moiety had the best anticonvulsant activity.
Journal Article
Synthesis, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant activities of substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1,3,4-thiadiazole and 1,2,4-triazole
TL;DR: A series of 5-[2-(phenylthio)phenyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazole, 1, 3, 4-thiadiazoles and 1, 2, 4 triazole derivatives were synthesized as discussed by the authors.
