Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term experimental evolution in Escherichia coli. I. Adaptation and divergence during 2,000 generations.
TL;DR: The degree to which adaptation to a uniform environment among independently evolving asexual populations is associated with increasing divergence of those populations is assessed, consistent with theoretical expectations that do not invoke divergence due to multiple fitness peaks in a Wrightian evolutionary landscape.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diversity of electroencephalographic patterns during propofol-induced burst suppression
Keith G Jones,C. M. Lybbert,Matthew J. Euler,Jason C. Huang,Sindhu Richards,Jacob E. Jessop,Adam L Larson,David H. Odell,Kai Kuck,Scott C. Tadler,Brian J. Mickey +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined burst suppression EEG data from 114 propofol infusions across 21 human subjects with treatment-resistant depression and observed three types of EEG burst activity: canonical broadband bursts (as frequently described in the literature), spindles (narrowband oscillations reminiscent of sleep spindle), and a new feature that they call low-frequency bursts (LFBs).
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical validation of an adapted Eleveld Model for high-dose propofol treatments for depression.

Journal ArticleDOI
290. Propofol for Depression: A Novel Intervention Using Real-Time Electroencephalography
Brian J. Mickey,C. M. Lybbert,Keith G Jones,Jason C. Huang,Rana Jawish,Daniela Solzbacher,Ellen Kendrick,Matthew D. Pierson,Kamile Weischedel,Noreen A. Rana,Lily Vonesh,Daniel Feldman,Claire Larson,Alan R. Light,Jacob E. Jessop,Adam L Larson,David H. Odell,Kai Kuck,Scott C. Tadler +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors conducted a randomized controlled trial to test the hypothesis that propofol has antidepressant and neuroplastic effects, and compared two doses of the anesthetic drug.
Journal ArticleDOI
18. Short-Term Mood Effects of Repeated Propofol Infusions for Depression
Daniel Feldman,Keith G Jones,Lily Vonesh,C. M. Lybbert,Jason C. Huang,Kai Kuck,Jacob E. Jessop,Adam L Larson,David H. Odell,Scott C. Tadler,Brian J. Mickey +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the anesthetic propofol is proposed to have antidepressant effects, and the effects of repeated infusions with depressed subjects were investigated, and it was shown that immediate drug-induced mood improvements would change with repeated infusion and that immediate improvement would predict later antidepressant response.
