Journal ArticleDOI
Exciton scattering on symmetric branching centers in conjugated molecules.
TL;DR: The capability of the exciton scattering approach is extended to include symmetric triple and quadruple joints that connect linear segments on the basis of the phenylacetylene backbone, and topological charges are introduced, associated with the scattering matrices, which help to formulate useful relations between the number of excitations in the excitation band and thenumber of repeat units.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two photon absorption of extended substituted phenylenevinylene oligomers: A TDDFT study
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of substituent groups on one-photon (OPA) absorption properties of extended amine-terminated phenylenevinylene oligomers was analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuning Optical Properties of Conjugated Molecules by Lewis Acids: Insights from Electronic Structure Modeling
Hung Phan,Hung Phan,Thomas Kelly,Andriy Zhugayevych,Guillermo C. Bazan,Thuc-Quyen Nguyen,Emily A. A. Jarvis,Sergei Tretiak,Sergei Tretiak,Sergei Tretiak +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that density functional theory (DFT) calculation is a useful tool to provide insights into the bonding, electron population distribution and optical transitions of adducts between conjugated molecules and Lewis acids (CM-LA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Real-space analysis of electronic excitations in free-base (H2P) and magnesium (MgP) porphins
TL;DR: In this article, the absorption spectra of free-base and magnesium porphins were analyzed using collective electronic normal modes representing the changes in charge distributions and bond-order patterns induced by the optical field.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the existence of photoexcited breathers in conducting polymers
TL;DR: In this article, the formation and decay mechanisms of photoinduced nonlinear vibronic excitations (breathers) in several conjugated polymers are studied using a quantum-chemical excited state molecular dynamics approach.
