Journal ArticleDOI
Macrophages in intestinal inflammation and resolution: a potential therapeutic target in IBD
TL;DR: A deeper understanding of the molecular pathways involved in the differentiation and functions of intestinal macrophages might lead to a new class of targets to promote remission in patients with IBD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human originated bacteria, Lactobacillus rhamnosus PL60, produce conjugated linoleic acid and show anti-obesity effects in diet-induced obese mice.
Hui-Young Lee,Jong-Hwan Park,Seung Hyeok Seok,Min-Won Baek,Dong Jae Kim,Ki-Eun Lee,Kyungsoo Paek,Yeonhee Lee,Jae-Hak Park,Jae-Hak Park,Jae-Hak Park +10 more
TL;DR: The amount of conjugated linoleic acid produced by Lactobacillus rhamnosus PL60 was enough to produce an anti-obesity effect on diet-induced obese mice, and the size of epididymal adipocytes was not reduced, and apoptotic signals and UCP-2 mRNA levels increased in adipose tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative absorption, distribution, and excretion of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide nanoparticles after repeated oral administration
TL;DR: Compared with TiO2 nanoparticles, ZnO nanoparticles demonstrated higher absorption and more extensive organ distribution when administered orally, possibly due to the higher dissolution rate in acidic gastric fluid, although more thorough studies are needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclooxygenase-2 inhibition blocks M2 macrophage differentiation and suppresses metastasis in murine breast cancer model
TL;DR: Using a BALB/c breast cancer model, etodolac significantly reduced lung metastasis and caused loss of the M2 macrophage characteristics of TAMs and may assist prevention of breast cancer metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of specific antibodies against SARS-coronavirus nucleocapsid protein without cross reactivity with human coronaviruses 229E and OC43.
Hyun Kyoung Lee,Byoung-Hee Lee,Seung Hyeok Seok,Min Won Baek,Hui-Young Lee,Dong Jae Kim,Yi Rang Na,Kyoung Jin Noh,Sung-Hoon Park,Dutta Noton Kumar,Hiroaki Kariwa,Mina Nakauchi,Suk Jin Heo,Jae-Hak Park +13 more
TL;DR: Polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies are raised using a recombinant form of the SARS virus nucleocapsid protein and cross-reactivity of these anti-SARS Abs against human coronavirus (HCoV) 229E and HCoV OC43 was determined by Western blotting.
