Comparison of microstructure and mechanical properties of A356 aluminum alloy/Al2O3 composites fabricated by stir and compo-casting processes

TL;DR: In this article, nano and micro-composites (A356/Al 2 O 3 ) with different weight percent of particles were fabricated by two melt techniques such as stir-casting and compo-casting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Al2O3 micro and nano composites fabricated by stir casting

TL;DR: In this article, a three-step mixing method was used to improve the wettability and distribution of reinforcement particles within the matrix, which included heat treatment of micro and nano Al2O3 particles, injection of heat-treated particles, and stirring the melt at different speeds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fabrication of A356 composite reinforced with micro and nano Al2O3 particles by a developed compocasting method and study of its properties

TL;DR: In this article, compocasting was used to fabricate aluminum-matrix composite reinforced with micro and nano-alumina particles, and the microstructure of the composite samples was investigated by Optical and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructure evaluation of Al-Al2O3 composite produced by mechanical alloying method

TL;DR: In this paper, a horizontal ball mill was designed and manufactured for the production of Al-Al 2 O 3 composite materials by mechanical alloying method and its microstructure was investigated by scanning electron microscope.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructure evolution of high-performance Ni-base superalloy GTD-111 with heat treatment parameters

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of some heat treatment parameters on microstructure of Ni-base superalloys were investigated and it was shown that with long time homogenization at 1200°C local melting of γ −γ −γ′ eutectic occurs and in conclusion, the volume percent of the Eutectics decreases.
