Analysis of Stepped Beam Using Reduced Order Models

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared three reduced order models (ROMs) with specific reference to a simple problem of damage detection in complicated engineering systems from vibration measurements, including Component Mode Synthesis (CMS), Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and System Equivalent Reduction Expansion Process (SEREP).
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Semi-Active Control of Stay Cable Vibrations Using Magnetorheological Damper

TL;DR: In this article, a nonlinear dynamic model of a stay cable with an axial support motion is considered and a magnetorheological (MR) damper is employed for semi-active control of cable vibrations.
Book ChapterDOI

Analysis of Tristable Energy Harvesters Under Random Excitations

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of tristable energy harvesters under Gaussian white noise excitation was analyzed through numerical simulations and it was shown that beyond a certain critical amplitude of excitation, the harvester undergo inter-well oscillations and harvest more power.
