Local scour around two pipelines in tandem in steady current

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effects of the gap ratio on the scour depth and scour time scale of two identical pipelines in a tandem arrangement, where the two-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, together with the conservation equation of the sediment mass are solved to simulate the flow around two pipelines and the evolution of the local scour profile below the pipelines.

Three-dimensional simulation of flow past two circular cylinders of different diameters

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of position angle of small cylinder relative to the larger one on the three-dimensional flow, the force coefficients, the vortex shedding frequencies from the two cylinders and flow characteristics were investigated numerically by solving the threedimensional Naiver-stokes equations using the Petrov-Galerkin finite element method (PG-FEM).
