It is highly attractive to develop non-noble-metal nanoarray architecture as a high-active catalyst electrode for molecular detection due to its large specific surface area and easy accessibility to target molecules. In this paper, we demonstrate the development of cobalt nitride nanowire array on Ti mesh (Co 3 N NW/TM) as an efficient catalyst electrode for glucose oxidation in alkaline solutions and H 2 O 2 reduction in neutral solutions. Electrochemical tests suggest that such Co 3 N NW/TM possesses superior non-enzymatic sensing ability toward rapid glucose and H 2 O 2 detection. As a glucose sensor, this fabricated electrode offers a high sensitivity of 3325.6 μA mM −1  cm −2 , with a wide linear range from 0.1 μM to 2.5 mM, a low detection limit of 50 nM (S/N = 3), and satisfactory stability and reproducibility. Its application in determining glucose in human blood serum is also successful. Amperometric H 2 O 2 sensing can also been realized with a sensitivity of 139.9 μA mM −1  cm −2 , a linear range from 2 μM to 28 mM, and a detection limit of 1 μM (S / N = 3). This nanoarray architecture holds great promise as an attractive sensing platform toward electrochemical small molecules detection.

Cobalt nitride nanowire array as an efficient electrochemical sensor for glucose and H2O2 detection

Nanozyme/natural enzyme hybrid plays a vital role in biosensing, therapy, and catalysis owing to the integrated advantages in the selectivity of natural enzymes and controllable catalytic activity of nanozymes. Herein, Fe-MIL-88B-NH2 [(Fe-metal-organic framework (MOF)] with remarkable peroxidase-like activity, ultrahigh stability, and high biocompatibility was utilized for immobilization of glucose oxidase (GOx) via an amidation coupling reaction. On the basis of the excellent selectivity and catalytic activity of Fe-MOF-GOx, a cascade catalysis was performed for the colorimetric detection of glucose. The integrated Fe-MOF-GOx not only exhibited higher stability and reusability than their mixtures including Fe-MOF and free GOx system but also possessed a wide linear range (1-500 μM), with a low detection limit of 0.487 μM for glucose detection.

Glucose Oxidase-Integrated Metal-Organic Framework Hybrids as Biomimetic Cascade Nanozymes for Ultrasensitive Glucose Biosensing.

It is highly attractive to construct a natural enzyme-free electrode for sensitive and selective detection of glucose. In this Letter, we report that a Ni2P nanoarray on conductive carbon cloth (Ni2P NA/CC) behaves as an efficient three-dimensional catalyst electrode for glucose electrooxidation under alkaline conditions. Electrochemical measurements demonstrate that the Ni2P NA/CC, when used as a nonenzymatic glucose sensor, offers superior analytical performances with a short response time of 5 s, a wide detection range of 1 μM to 3 mM, a low detection limit of 0.18 μM (S/N = 3), a response sensitivity of 7792 μA mM–1 cm–2, and satisfactory selectivity, specificity, and reproducibility. Moreover, it can also be used for glucose detection in human blood serum, promising its application toward determination of glucose in real samples.

Three-Dimensional Ni2P Nanoarray: An Efficient Catalyst Electrode for Sensitive and Selective Nonenzymatic Glucose Sensing with High Specificity

Here, we report the development of a copper-nitride nanowires array on copper foam (Cu3N NA/CF) as a dual-functional catalyst electrode for efficient glucose oxidation in alkaline solutions and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) reduction in neutral solutions. Electrochemical tests indicate that such Cu3N NA/CF possesses superior non-enzymatic sensing ability toward rapid glucose and H2O2 detection with high selectivity. At 0.40 V, this sensor offers a high sensitivity of 14 180 μA mm cm−2 for glucose detection, with a wide linear range from 1 μm to 2 mm, a low detection limit of 13 nm (S/N=3), and satisfactory stability and reproducibility. Its application in determining glucose in human blood serum is also demonstrated. Amperometric H2O2 sensing can also been realized with a sensitivity of 7600 μA mm cm−2, a linear range from 0.1 μm to 10 mm, and a detection limit of 8.9 nm (S/N=3). This 3D-nanoarray architecture holds great promise as an attractive sensing platform toward electrochemical small molecules detection.

Copper-Nitride Nanowires Array: An Efficient Dual-Functional Catalyst Electrode for Sensitive and Selective Non-Enzymatic Glucose and Hydrogen Peroxide Sensing.

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder in the endocrine system. This dreadful disease is found in all parts of the world and becoming a serious threat of mankind health. There are lots of chemical agents available to control and to treat diabetic patients, but total recovery from diabetes has not been reported up to this date. In addition to adverse effects, drug treatments are not always satisfactory in maintaining euglycemia and avoiding late stage diabetic complications. Alternative to these synthetic agents, plants provided a potential source of hypoglycemic drugs and are widely used in several traditional systems of medicine to prevent diabetes. Several medicinal plants have been investigated for their beneficial effect in different type of diabetes. Other alternative therapies such as dietary supplements, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, and yoga therapies less likely to have the side effects of conventional approaches for diabetes.

Alternative therapies useful in the management of diabetes: A systematic review.

Ethanolic extracts of Hedychium spichatum rhizomes and Zingiber zerumbet rhizomes were taken for in vitro comparative studies on the anthelmintic activity against Pheritima posthuma. Different concentrations (25, 50, 100 mg/ml) of both the extracts were used for the activity. Varying albendazole concentrations (25, 50, 100 mg/ml) were used as a reference standard and normal saline (0.9% NaCl) was used for the control treatment. The results were expressed in terms of time in minutes to report the paralysis and time of death of the earthworms. The results obtained from the study indicate toward the anthelmintic activity, supporting folk use of both the plants when compared with the standard. The results also established that Z. zerumbet was a more potent candidature of as compared with H. spichatum.

Schleichera oleosa (Lour) Oken., a member of Sapindaceae family, is found in South East Asia region and in sub-Himalayan tract of India. This plant is long been used in India as a folkloric plant for its enormous therapeutic effects and as livestock feeds. The plant is used in helminthiasis, acne, itching, menorrhea, malaria, dysentery, rheumatism, hair loss in Ayurveda and evaluated scientifically for antiinflammatory, antiulcer, anticancer, antibacterial and antioxidant effects. Phenolic compounds, fatty acids, tannins, hydroxyl sterols and triterpenoids are the common active Phytoconstituents of this plant. The present study reviews the Vedic status, traditional uses, Ayurvedic properties, Phytoconstituents, chemistry and biological effects of Schleichera oleosa and describes as a potential plant for the source of various therapeutic agents.

Today, COVID-19 (Novel corona virus) became a global health threat which is infected approx 3 million people affecting 210 countries across the globe till date which came into view from Wuhan, China rising in people who are linked with the Wuhan's seafood market, which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona virus-2 (SARS-COV-2) and affects the lower respiratory tract and manifests as pneumonia in humans. Since, bats could be possible primary reservoir for novel corona virus but there is no consistent evidence of intermediate for animal to human transmission. Its tendency of human to human transmission and worldwide reports makes compulsion for World Health Organization (WHO) to declare the novel corona virus as pandemic. Till date, there is no antiviral treatment or vaccine available against COVID-19. In response to this global health emergency, the present article summarized the threat, transmission, spread, biology and preventions.
