Physical activity lowers mortality and heart disease risks

TL;DR: The curvilinear shape of the dosedependent relation between physical activity and mortality and disease rates in Lear and colleagues’ study mirrors what has been observed in high-income countries, and provides an encouraging message: the largest risk reductions are seen between participants not meeting current physical activity recommendations and those meeting these recommendations—the equivalent of 150 min of moderate activity per week.
