Intratracheal administration of activated protein C inhibits bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis in the mouse.

TL;DR: Examination of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) concentration of activated PC (APC) and the therapeutic effect of the intratracheal administration of APC on BLM-induced lung fibrosis in mice showed that intratRacheal APC administration inhibits the development of lung Fibrosis in BLM- induced lung injury, giving further support to the important role that the PC pathway plays in the mechanism of lung fibritis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vacuolar H+-ATPase inhibitor induces apoptosis via lysosomal dysfunction in the human gastric cancer cell line MKN-1.

TL;DR: Results suggest that bafilomycin A(1)-induced apoptosis in MKN-1 cells is mediated by other proteases released after lysosomal dysfunction followed by activation of caspase-3 in a cytochrome c-independent manner.
Journal Article

Early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma using a sensitive assay for serum des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin: a prospective study.

TL;DR: Investigation of the usefulness of measuring des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin by a highly sensitive assay by a sensitive assay combined with alpha-fetoprotein for detecting hepatocellular carcinoma in chronic liver disease patients and for monitoring recurrence after treatment of hepato Cell carcinoma finds it useful.
