The pupilometer may comprise an imaging sensor for generating signals representative of a pupil of an eye, a data processor; and a program executable by the data processor for enabling the data processor to process signals received from the imaging sensor and to thereby identify one or more regions of non-uniformity within an image of a perimeter of the pupil. The pupilometer may incorporate several innovative calibration and thresholding routines and may provide the basis for an innovative medical diagnostics system, when coupled to a network containing a suitable medical database and data processing hardware.

A low dropout (LDO) regulator for generating an output voltage on an output from an input voltage of an input source. The LDO regulator including a switch module to generate the output voltage. The switch module including at least two parallel connected switches responsive to corresponding switch control signals to regulate a flow of energy from the input source to the output. A digital controller to sense the output voltage and in response to generate the switch control signals such that the output voltage is regulated to a predetermined amplitude.

A microminiature power converter includes a semiconductor substrate on which a semiconductor integrated circuit is formed, a thin film magnetic induction element, and a capacitor. The thin film magnetic induction element includes a magnetic insulating substrate, and a solenoid coil conductor in which a first conductor is formed on a first principal plane of the magnetic insulating substrate, a second conductor is formed on a second principal plane of the magnetic insulating substrate, and a connection conductor is formed in a through hole passing through the magnetic insulating substrate are connected. A relationship of a length L of the magnetic insulating substrate in a direction vertical to a magnetic field generated by the solenoid coil and a length d of the coil conductor is d≧L/2.

The invention relates to a printed circuit board comprising capacitive and inductive elements. To arrange such a printed circuit board so that it has a smaller thickness and can be manufactured cost effectively, a printed circuit board is proposed having at least one dielectric layer, on the two side faces of which capacitor electrodes arranged opposite each other are positioned in a first area and two planar windings opposite each other are arranged in at least a second area next to the first area on the side faces of the electric layer.

A noise-cut filter device for a power converter, including at least one noise-cut filter, for filtering switching noise occurring upon a switching operation of a semiconductor switching device of the power converter is disclosed. In this filter device, the noise-cut filter includes first and second planar conductors, and a dielectric sheet having upper and lower surfaces on which the first and second conductors are disposed to face each other through the dielectric sheet. The first and second planar conductors cooperate with the dielectric sheet to form a circuit having both functions of an inductor and a condenser. The current of a main circuit of the power converter flows through the opposite ends of the first planar conductor, while the current based on the switching noise, which flows from the first conductor to the second conductor, is led to ground by the second conductor.

Noise-cut LC filter for power converter with overlapping aligned coil patterns

The interference signals appear during switching of semiconductor switches in the converter. On the other side of a dielectric panel (2), a first planar conductor (1) is formed. On a second side, a second planar conductor is formed, opposite the first one. The two conductors act with the dielectric panel to form a circuit which functions as a choke and a capacitor. The first conductor comprises an opposite end for the flow of a main circuit current of the converter. The interference based current, flowing from the first conductor through the dielectric panel to the second conductor, can be deflected to earth via the second conductor.
