A systematic literature review of blockchain-based applications: Current status, classification and open issues

The sharp increase in the number of smartphones on the market, with the Android platform posed to becoming a market leader makes the need for malware analysis on this platform an urgent issue.In this paper we capitalize on earlier approaches for dynamic analysis of application behavior as a means for detecting malware in the Android platform. The detector is embedded in a overall framework for collection of traces from an unlimited number of real users based on crowdsourcing. Our framework has been demonstrated by analyzing the data collected in the central server using two types of data sets: those from artificial malware created for test purposes, and those from real malware found in the wild. The method is shown to be an effective means of isolating the malware and alerting the users of a downloaded malware. This shows the potential for avoiding the spreading of a detected malware to a larger community.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of a privacy enhancing personal agent that manages a user's privacy policy settings and provides access control functions to ITS services. The personal agent acts as a proxy between a vehicle and service providers, and it automatically decides whether personal data can be sent to a service provider based on the privacy policy settings. The functions of the personal agent are also described. The personal agent provides a common web-based interface, and the quality of data can be controlled through anonymization levels. Our research provides a conceptual model of the personal agent and considers the design of the personal agent based on privacy requirements. Drivers can delegate their user consent role to the personal agent by configuring privacy policy settings on the personal agent. The personal agent is a key component for achieving a secure and reliable data transfer platform between vehicles and service providers.

Personal Agent for Services in ITS

In this paper, we consider a simple procedure for finding the source of a leaked dataset and evaluate its applicability to general ?-anonymization datasets. The focus of the paper is to identify each anonymized dataset, and thus how to generate a large number of different datasets from the original table is an important issue. We evaluate the number of possible anonymized datasets and consider how to increase the number of anonymized datasets by performing a modification process before anonymization. We also consider a new security notion and security evaluation against several types of attacks. Through our experiments, we confirmed that we could generate some ?-anonymized datasets that satisfy a certain level of security against the attacks and even a simple modification process was shown to be an effective way of increasing the number of possible anonymized datasets. This paper is the first step to realizing traceability of a leaked ?-anonymized dataset.

Towards Tracing of k-Anonymized Datasets

Memory-constrained devices, including widely used smart cards, require resisting attacks by the quantum computers. Lattice-based encryption scheme possesses high efficiency and reliability which could run on small devices with limited storage capacity and computation resources such as IoT sensor nodes or smart cards. We present the first implementation of a lattice-based encryption scheme on the standard Java Card platform by combining number theoretic transform and improved Montgomery modular multiplication. The running time of decryption is nearly optimal (about 7 seconds for 128-bit security level). We also optimize discrete Ziggurat algorithm and Knuth-Yao algorithm to sample from prescribed probability distributions on the Java Card platform. More importantly, we indicate that polynomial multiplication can be performed on Java Card efficiently even if the long integers are not supported, which makes running more lattice-based cryptosystems on smart cards achievable.

Memory-constrained implementation of lattice-based encryption scheme on standard Java Card platform

In order to avail of some service, a user may need to share with a service provider her personal chronological information, e.g., identity, financial record, health information and so on. In the context of financial organisations, a process often referred to as the know your customer (KYC) is carried out by financial organisations to collect information about their customers. Sharing this information with multiple service providers duplicates the data making it difficult to keep it up-to-date as well as verify. Furthermore, the user has limited to no control over the, mostly sensitive, data that is released to such organisations. In this preliminary work, we propose an efficient framework – Verifiable Information Graph or VIGraph – based on generalised hash trees, which can be used for verification of data with selective release of sensitive information. Throughout the paper, we use personal profile information as the running example to which our proposed framework is applied.

VIGraph – A Framework for Verifiable Information

The iKaaS platform has been developed as a Horizon 2020 project to construct a multi-cloud environment in order to share data and knowledge. In this paper, we add a framework for knowledge sharing/reuse in the iKaaS platform. Furthermore, we design a revenue-sharing mechanism for knowledge sharing, which uses a blockchain for registration and use of data processing services.
