Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous hydrolysis of olive oil by lipase in microporous hydrophobic membrane bioreactor

TL;DR: The hydrolysis seemed to be limited by diffusion of fat or fatty acid through the micropores of the membrane at higher interfacial enzyme concentrations, and the lipase was stabilized significantly by glycerol added to the buffer solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous synthesis of glycerides by lipase in a microporous membrane bioreactor

TL;DR: A membrane bioreactor was developed for continuous synthesis of glycerides by lipase to overcome the drawbacks associated with the usual operation in an emulsion system, yielding a conversion above 70% when 1% CaCl2 was added in the glycerol solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Continuous Synthesis of Glycerides by Lipase in a Microporous Membrane Bioreactor

TL;DR: The main industrial process is based on direct esterification of fatty acids with glycerol and polyglycerol of various chain lengths in the presence of an inorganic catalyst a t 2OG25O0C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the Specificity of Lipases. I.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the hydrolysis of borage seed oil containing γ-linolenic acid (Δ6, 9, 12, 15-octadecatrienoic acid) using two kinds of microbial lipases.
