Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of oral ingestion of an extract of the herb Uncaria tomentosa on the biodistribution of sodium pertechnetate in rats
Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,A L C Silva,G. Diré,H Honeycut,Jorge José de Carvalho,Ana Lucia Rosa Nascimento,M. Pereira .,Emely Kazan Rocha,M Oliveira-Timóteo,Adriano Arnobio,Beni Olej,M. Bernardo-Filho,Luiz Querino de Araújo Caldas +13 more
TL;DR: A significant alteration in Na99mTcO4 uptake is probably an example of drug interaction with a radiopharmaceutical, a fact that could lead to misdiagnosis of the examination in clinical practice with unexpected consequences for the patient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of a commercial extract of Paullinia cupana (guarana) on the binding of 99mTc-DMSA on blood constituents: An in vivo study
R. S. Freitas,Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,G.L. Lima-Filho .,Adenilson de Souza da Fonseca,Mario Bernardo-Filho +4 more
TL;DR: A commercial extract of Paullinia cupana (guarana) is studied on the binding of technetium-99m-dimercaptosuccinic acid ((99m)Tc-DMSA) on blood constituents to study the influence of incorporated radioactivity in blood constituents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protection of plasmid DNA by a Ginkgo biloba extract from the effects of stannous chloride and the action on the labeling of blood elements with technetium-99m
Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,R. S. Freitas,Emely Kazan Rocha,G.L. Lima-Filho .,Mario Bernardo-Filho +5 more
TL;DR: The effect of EGb on the tested systems may be due to its chelating action with theStannous ions and/or pertechnetate or to the capability to generate reactive oxygen species that could oxidize the stannous ion.
Journal Article
Effect of a chayotte (Sechium edule) extract on the labeling of red blood cells and plasma proteins with technetium-99m: in vitro and in vivo studies.
Gláucio Diré Feliciano,E. Lima,Mario José dos Santos Pereira,Márcia Betânia Nunes de Oliveira,Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,D. M. M. Mattos,R.L. Jales .,Mario Bernardo-Filho +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of chayotte extracts (macerated and infusion) on the labeling of blood elements with technetium-99m (99mTc) has been evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Ginkgo biloba on the labeling of blood elements with technetium-99m: in vitro study
Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,Silvana Ramos Farias Moreno,Gláucio Diré Feliciano,R. S. Freitas,Miguel B. Farah,Guilherme Lima Laurentino-Filho,Emely Kazan Rocha,R.L. Jales .,Mario Bernardo Filho +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the Ginkgo biloba effect can be explained by an inhibition of the transport of these ions, damage in membrane, competition with the cited ions for the same binding sites, or possible generation of reactive oxygen species that could oxidize the stannous ion.
