Journal ArticleDOI

Update on Fundamental Mechanisms of Thyroid Cancer.

TL;DR: Much work remains to be done to fully understand the pathogenesis and biological behaviors of the different types of TC and to transfer this knowledge in clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Insulin autoimmune syndrome: from diagnosis to clinical management.

TL;DR: This review focuses on type B insulin resistance syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder resulting in a broad array of abnormalities in glucose homeostasis-from hypoglycemia to extremely insulin-resistant hyperglycemia-caused by the presence of insulin receptor autoantibodies (IRAbs).
Journal ArticleDOI

Overexpression of L-Type Amino Acid Transporter 1 (LAT1) and 2 (LAT2): Novel Markers of Neuroendocrine Tumors

TL;DR: The present study is the first to provide experimental evidence of the overexpression in some NET cancers (such as PHEO or MTC) of L-type amino acid transporters, and the LAT1 isoform in particular, giving the molecular basis to explain the increase of the DOPA uptake seen in such tumor cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effects of Iodine Supplementation in Pregnancy on Iodine Status, Thyroglobulin Levels and Thyroid Function Parameters: Results from a Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial in a Mild-to-Moderate Iodine Deficiency Area.

TL;DR: Iodine supplementation did not prove harmful to pregnancy in areas of mild-to-moderate iodine deficiency, with no appreciable harmful effect on thyroid function and Tg proved a good parameter for measuring iodine intake in the authors' placebo-controlled series.
