A $C^1$ Virtual Element Method for the Cahn--Hilliard Equation with Polygonal Meshes

TL;DR: An evolution of the virtual elements of minimal degree for the approximation of the Cahn--Hilliard equation is developed and the convergence of the semidiscrete scheme is proved and the performance of the fully discrete scheme is investigated through a set of numerical tests.
Journal ArticleDOI

Overlapping Schwarz Methods for Isogeometric Analysis

TL;DR: An an overlapping Schwarz preconditioner for elliptic problems discretized with isogeometric analysis is constructed, showing in particular that the resulting algorithm is scalable and its convergence rate depends linearly on the ratio between subdomain and „overlap sizes” for fixed polynomial degree $p$ and regularity of the basis functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isogeometric BDDC Preconditioners with Deluxe Scaling

TL;DR: A balancing domain decomposition by constraints preconditioner with a novel scaling, introduced by Dohrmann for problems with more than one variable coefficient and here denoted as deluxe scaling, is extended to isogeometric analysis of scalar elliptic problems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multilevel Additive Schwarz Preconditioners for the Bidomain Reaction-Diffusion System

TL;DR: Convergence estimates are proved for the resulting multilevel algorithm, showing that its convergence rate is independent of the number of subdomains (scalability), of the mesh sizes of each level and of thenumber of levels (optimality).
