Orchid is one of the ornamental plants which have been high commercial value. Therefore, orchid often has been over exploitation. Finally, some of orchid species are becoming threatened or even endangered. Purwodadi Botanical Garden as an institute of ex-situ conservation play role with it. The aim of this research is to inventory orchidâ€™s species in Lamedai Nature Reserve, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi by explorative method. Observation for habitat study was focused on some ecological factors supported to orchids growth like host tree, zone growth on host tree, abundance of sunlight, thickness of substrate (moss), orchid species and number of individual species. The result showed that there were 27 orchids species, consist of, 25 species (16 genera) epiphytic orchid and 2 species terrestrial orchid such as Eulophia keithii var. celebica and Goodyera rubicunda (Blume) Lindl. The host preference for theepiphytic orchid is the group of Myrtaceae family like Syzygium sp., Metrosideros vera Niederen and Metrosideros sp. They mostly grow on the main stem of the tree zone 1 on thick substrate (moss) and get a little abundance of sunlight (calm).

Inventory and habitat study of orchids species in Lamedai Nature Reserve, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi

Indonesia has 25% of the world's flowering plant species. One of the largest flowering plants in Indonesia is the Orchidaceae family. There are 4,000 – 5,000 species of orchids scattered in various provinces, one of which is in North Sumatra. There is still little information about the Family Orchidaceae found in the Bukit Lawang Forest, the purpose of this research is to determine the types of orchids found in the Bukit Lawang Forest, Timbang Jaya Village, Bahorok District. This research was conducted from December 2020 to January 2021. The research method is exploratory by making an inventory of the types of orchids found along the exploration path. The results found 9 species of orchids (7 genera) consisting of 7 epiphytes and 2 terrestrial, namely Bulbophyllum sp., Bromheadia sp., Plocoglottis sp., Epidendrum sp., Pinalia sp., Dendrobium sp. and Dendrobium lobolatum.

Study on the orchids diversity was conducted in Situ Gunung, sub district of Kadudampit, district of Sukabumi, West Java. There were 41 collection numbers, consist of 18 terrestrial orchids, 22 epiphyte orchids, and one saprophyte orchid, belong to 26 genera and 41 species. There were eight species of flowering orchids and the rest were not at flowering stage. Agrostophyllum bicuspidatum J.J.Sm, Plocoglottis acuminata Bl dan Appendicula sp. were commonly found at Situ Gunung. Species orchid of Calanthe triplicata (Willemet) Ames and Plocoglottis acuminata Bl found in a clumped group. Tainia elongata J.J.
