Journal ArticleDOI

Improved Glycemic Control Without Hypoglycemia in Elderly Diabetic Patients Using the Ubiquitous Healthcare Service, a New Medical Information System

TL;DR: The CDSS-based u-healthcare service achieved better glycemic control with less hypoglycemia than SMBG and routine care and may provide effective and safe diabetes management in the elderly diabetic patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polymer Dynamics in PEG-Silica Nanocomposites: Effects of Polymer Molecular Weight, Temperature and Solvent Dilution

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on surface-induced changes in polymer dynamics and distinguish three polymer phases of different mobility, i.e., a strongly adsorbed, solid-like fraction, a fraction with intermediate relaxation times and a highly mobile fraction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decoupled control of stiffness and permeability with a cell-encapsulating poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate hydrogel

TL;DR: The results of this study demonstrate an advanced biomaterial design paradigm which allows one to culture cells in a 3D matrix of varying rigidity and will greatly expedite the use of a hydrogel system in both fundamental studies and clinical settings of cell therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Large-Area Nanosquare Arrays from Shear-Aligned Block Copolymer Thin Films

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that square, rectangular, and rhombic arrays can be created via shear-alignment of distinct layers of cylinder-forming block copolymers, coupled with cross-linking of the layers using ultraviolet light.
