Optimum creep lifetime of Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) tube using rheological creep constitutive models based on experimental data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the creep behavior of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) at different temperatures (30, 40 and 50°C) and stress levels and found that the generalized time hardening model, which has extensive applications in commercial softwares, predicts the creep behaviour of PMMA at higher stress levels but deviates from the experimental results at lower stress levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel method for improving fatigue life of friction stir spot welded joints using localized plasticity

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of cold expansion on the improvement of fatigue life of friction stir spot welded (FSSW) joints in aluminum alloy 7075-T6 plates through conducting experimental and numerical procedures was evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the strain-life fatigue parameters of additive manufactured plastic materials through fused filament fabrication process

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of part build directions or raster orientations have been studied on the strain-life fatigue parameters of a wide range of 3D printed plastic materials, including Ultem 9085, Polycarbonate (PC), and Polylactic acid (PLA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Weld arrangement effects on the fatigue behavior of multi friction stir spot welded joints

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of friction stir spot weld arrangements as multi type on fatigue behavior of friction steam spot welded joints are investigated and the results reveal that there is relatively good agreement between fatigue life predictions and experimental data in reasonable fatigue life regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of Fatigue Crack Propagation in Spot-Welded Joints Based on Fracture Mechanics Approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the fatigue crack propagation life of resistance spot welds in tensile-shear specimens based on the calculation of stress intensity factors and J-integral using three-dimensional finite element method.
