An Experimental Evaluation of the Effects of a Realistic Job Preview on Marine Recruit Affect, Intentions and Behavior

TL;DR: In this paper, realistic job preview (RJP) was administered to Marine Recruits shortly after arrival at the Recruit Depot, and a strong experimental design utilizing placebo and control groups and three replications led to the findings that: the RJP treatment groups had lower, although not statistically significant, attrition at three months, 10.3% vs. 14.9%.
