Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of the pre-dose effect using ESR and TL
X.H. Yang,Stephen W.S. McKeever +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used Electron Spin Resonance (ESR), Thermoluminescence (TL) and Infra-Red Absorption Spectroscopy (IR) to monitor a variety of defects, in samples of both synthetic and natural, crystalline quartz, as a function of various annealing and sweeping treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Concepts and approaches to in situ luminescence dating of Martian sediments.
Stephen W.S. McKeever,Debabrata Banerjee,Michael W. Blair,Stephen M. Clifford,Martha S. Clowdsley,S.S. Kim,Michel Lamothe,Kenneth Lepper,M. Leuschen,K.J. McKeever,M. Prather,A. Rowland,D. Reust,Derek W. G. Sears,John W. Wilson +14 more
TL;DR: The concept of a robotic instrument for in situ luminescence dating of near-surface sediments on Mars is presented and the challenges presented by the Mars surface environment to the design and operation of the instrument are outlined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) of Tooth Enamel and its Potential Use in Post-Radiation Exposure Triage
TL;DR: Sensitivities varied considerably between different teeth and also between fragments of the same tooth, and OSL signals were found to decay rapidly during the first 12 h after irradiation and more slowly afterward, and the fading rate of the luminescence signal varied between fragments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Point Defects and the Pre-Dose Effect in Quartz

Journal ArticleDOI
Models for optical bleaching of thermoluminescence in sediments
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined several models for the description of TL, focusing most attention on the properties of optical bleaching, in an effort to determine if realistic models can be devised which accurately describe the observed behavior.
