Journal ArticleDOI
Overexpression of GmERF5, a new member of the soybean EAR motif-containing ERF transcription factor, enhances resistance to Phytophthora sojae in soybean
Lidong Dong,Yingxin Cheng,Junjiang Wu,Qun Cheng,Wenbin Li,Sujie Fan,Liangyu Jiang,Zhaolong Xu,Fanjiang Kong,Dayong Zhang,Pengfei Xu,Shuzhen Zhang +11 more
TL;DR: GmERF5 is the first soybean EAR motif-containing ERF transcription factor demonstrated to be involved in the response to pathogen infection and could be involved not only in the induced defence response but also in the ABA-mediated pathway of salt and drought tolerance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overexpression of Soybean Isoflavone Reductase (GmIFR) Enhances Resistance to Phytophthora sojae in Soybean.
Qun Cheng,Ninghui Li,Lidong Dong,Dayong Zhang,Sujie Fan,Liangyu Jiang,Xin Wang,Pengfei Xu,Shuzhen Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: It was found that the relative expression levels of reactive oxygen species of transgenic soybean plants were significantly lower than those of non-transgenic plants after incubation with P. sojae, suggesting an important role of GmIFR might function as an antioxidant to reduce ROS in soybean.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolation and Characterization of a Novel Pathogenesis-Related Protein Gene (GmPRP) with Induced Expression in Soybean (Glycine max) during Infection with Phytophthora sojae.
Liangyu Jiang,Junjiang Wu,Sujie Fan,Wenbin Li,Lidong Dong,Qun Cheng,Pengfei Xu,Shuzhen Zhang +7 more
TL;DR: Results indicated that the GmPRP protein played an important role in the defense of soybean against P. sojae infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phenylalanine ammonia-lyase2.1 contributes to the soybean response towards Phytophthora sojae infection.
Chuanzhong Zhang,Xin Wang,Feng Zhang,Lidong Dong,Junjiang Wu,Qun Cheng,Dongyue Qi,Xiaofei Yan,Liangyu Jiang,Sujie Fan,Ninghui Li,Dongmei Li,Pengfei Xu,Shuzhen Zhang +13 more
TL;DR: Overexpression and RNA interference analysis suggests the important role of GmPAL2.1 functioning as a positive regulator in the soybean response to P. sojae infection, possibly by enhancing the content of glyceollins, daidzein, genistein and SA.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Novel Soybean ERF Transcription Factor, GmERF113, Increases Resistance to Phytophthora sojae Infection in Soybean.
Yuanling Zhao,Xin Chang,Dongyue Qi,Lidong Dong,Guangjin Wang,Sujie Fan,Liangyu Jiang,Qun Cheng,Xi Chen,Dan Han,Pengfei Xu,Shuzhen Zhang +11 more
TL;DR: GmERF113-overexpressing transgenic plants in susceptible cultivar ‘Dongnong 50’ soybean exhibited increased resistance to P. sojae and positively regulated the expression of the pathogenesis-related genes, PR1 and PR10-1.
