Journal ArticleDOI
Photosensor Device Based on Few-Layered WS2 Films
Nestor Perea-Lopez,Ana Laura Elías,Ayse Berkdemir,A. Castro-Beltrán,Humberto R. Gutierrez,Simin Feng,Ruitao Lv,Takuya Hayashi,Florentino López-Urías,Sujoy Ghosh,Baleeswaraiah Muchharla,Saikat Talapatra,Humberto Terrones,Mauricio Terrones,Mauricio Terrones +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, a few-layered WS2 is synthesized by chemical vapor deposition on quartz, which is successfully used as light sensors and the results indicate that the electrical response strongly depends on the photon energy from the excitation lasers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical Characterization of Liquid Phase Exfoliated Two-Dimensional Layers of Molybdenum Disulfide
Andrew Winchester,Sujoy Ghosh,Simin Feng,Ana Laura Elías,Thomas E. Mallouk,Mauricio Terrones,Saikat Talapatra +6 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that liquid phase exfoliation methods can be used to produce large quantities of electrochemically active, two-dimensional layers of MoS2 and can act as an ideal material in several applications related to electrochemistry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of 1- Pyrene Carboxylic-Acid Functionalization of Graphene on Its Capacitive Energy Storage
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of supercapacitor devices fabricated using 1-pyrenecarboxylic acid (PCA)-functionalized graphene electrodes was investigated and the specific capacitances obtained (using 6 M KOH aqueous solution as an electrolyte) were found to be an order of magnitude higher than nonfunctionalized GAs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption energy of oxygen molecules on graphene and two-dimensional tungsten disulfide.
Filchito Renee Bagsican,Andrew Winchester,Sujoy Ghosh,Xiang Zhang,Lulu Ma,Minjie Wang,Hironaru Murakami,Saikat Talapatra,Robert Vajtai,Pulickel M. Ajayan,Junichiro Kono,Masayoshi Tonouchi,Iwao Kawayama +12 more
TL;DR: This work experimentally determined the adsorption energy of oxygen molecules on graphene and 2D tungsten disulfide using temperature-programmed terahertz (THz) emission microscopy (TPTEM) and introduced TPTEM as a novel and powerful tool for molecular surface science.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrafast Intrinsic Photoresponse and Direct Evidence of Sub-gap States in Liquid Phase Exfoliated MoS2Thin Films
Sujoy Ghosh,Andrew Winchester,Baleeswaraiah Muchharla,Milinda Wasala,Simin Feng,Ana Laura Elías,M. Bala Murali Krishna,Takaaki Harada,Catherine Chin,Keshav M. Dani,Swastik Kar,Mauricio Terrones,Saikat Talapatra,Saikat Talapatra +13 more
TL;DR: The nature of variation of photocurrent with temperature confirms that the trap states are continuously distributed within the mobility gap in these thin film of MoS2, and play a vital role in influencing the overall photo response.
