Nattiya Teawtrakul,Siriyakorn Chansai,Supawadee Yamsri,Kanchana Chansung,Chinadol Wanitpongpun,Theerin Lanamtieng,Pisa Phiphitaporn,Supan Fucharoen,Chatlert Pongchaiyakul +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined the association between growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF15) levels and osteoporosis in patients with thalassemia and found that the GDF15 level's ROC demonstrated a good performance in predicting osteoporeosis (AUC=0.77).
Journal ArticleDOI
Two Independent Genetic Origins of β+- Thalassemia Due to -31 A to G Mutation in Thai and Japanese Populations
TL;DR: Haplotype associated with the -31 (A-G) β+ -thalassemia gene in seven Thai individuals were examined and compared with that described originally in Japanese, indicating two independent origins of β-globin haplotype.

Direct PCR assays without DNA extraction for rapid detection of hemoglobin Constant Spring and Pakse' genes: application for carrier screening and prenatal diagnosis.
Phongsathorn Wichian,Supawadee Yamsri,Attawut Chaibunruang,Cholthicha KerdKaew,Dhanawan Thongsee,Hataichanok Srivorakun,Supan Fucharoen +6 more
TL;DR: Hemoglobin Constant Spring (Hb CS) and Hb Pakse' (PS) are the common non-deletional α+-thalassemia found in Thailand as discussed by the authors.
