Journal ArticleDOI

Self-efficacy in sleep apnea: instrument development and patient perceptions of obstructive sleep apnea risk, treatment benefit, and volition to use continuous positive airway pressure.

TL;DR: The findings indicate that the SEMSA has strong psychometric properties and has the potential for identifying patient perceptions that may indicate those most likely to not adhere to treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Reduced CPAP use during the first week was associated simultaneously with being black, higher residual apnea–hypopnea index and the treatment side effect of less intimacy with partners, suggesting the need to assess the impact of CPAP on intimacy and troubleshooting aspects of the treatment that interfere with sexual relationships.
