Mapping QTLs for Salt Tolerance in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) by Bulked Segregant Analysis of Recombinant Inbred Lines Using 50K SNP Chip
Sushma Tiwari,Krishnamurthy Sl,Vinod Kumar,Balwant Singh,Atmakuri Ramakrishna Rao,Amitha Mithra Sv,Vandna Rai,Ashok Kumar Singh,Nagendra K. Singh +8 more
TL;DR: A method for rapid identification of QTLs for reproductive stage salt tolerance in rice using bulked segregant analysis (BSA) of bi-parental recombinant inbred lines (RIL).
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a diverse mini‐core panel of Indian rice germplasm based on genotyping using microsatellite markers
Kapil K. Tiwari,Anshuman Singh,Sasmita Pattnaik,Maninder Sandhu,Sukhdeep Kaur,Sourabh Jain,Sushma Tiwari,Shweta Mehrotra,Mahender Anumalla,Rashmita Samal,Jyoti Bhardwaj,Neha Dubey,Vikrant Kumar Sahu,Gayle Alisha Kharshing,Patu Khate Zeliang,Kadiri Sreenivasan,Pankaj Kumar,Swarup K. Parida,Sevanthi V. A. Mithra,Vandana Rai,Wricha Tyagi,Pawan Kumar Agrawal,Atmakuri Ramakrishna Rao,Arunava Pattanayak,Girish Chandel,Ashok Kumar Singh,Ishwari Singh Bisht,Kangila Venkataraman Bhat,G. J. N. Rao,Jitendra P. Khurana,Nagendra K. Singh,Trilochan Mohapatra +31 more
TL;DR: The identified small but diverse panel of Indian rice germplasm will be useful for further intensive trait-specific evaluation and utilization in allele mining.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular and Morpho-Agronomical Characterization of Root Architecture at Seedling and Reproductive Stages for Drought Tolerance in Wheat.
Ram Sewak Singh Tomar,Sushma Tiwari,Vinod,Bhojaraja K. Naik,Suresh Chand,Rupesh Deshmukh,Niharika Mallick,Sanjay Singh,Nagendra K. Singh,S. M. S. Tomar +9 more
TL;DR: The genetic variability identified in current study demonstrated these traits can be used to improve drought tolerance and association mapping and was positively correlated to grouping based on root and morpho-agronomical traits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of genetic diversity in rice genotypes for salinity tolerance using Saltol markers of Chromosome 1
TL;DR: Information generated from the present study would be useful in selection of parents and for markeraided salinity breeding programs in rice and could be improved by inter-crossing with salt-tolerant genotypes.
Journal Article
Introgression of useful linked genes for resistance to stem rust, leaf rust and powdery mildew and their molecular validation in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).
M. Sivasamy,Vinod,Sushma Tiwari,Rukam S. Tomar,Bhanwar Singh,J. B. Sharma,S. M. S. Tomar,Suresh Chand +7 more
TL;DR: Evaluation of the BC3-F5 along with their recurrent parents and controls carrying specific Lr and Sr genes under natural and artificial conditions indicated that conventionally improved newly constituted lines confer resistance to leaf rust, stem rust and powdery mildew in adult stage against the pathotypes prevailing in the Nilgiris.
