Prostaglandin D2-Induced Eosinophilic Airway Inflammation Is Mediated by CRTH2 Receptor
Yoshiki Shiraishi,Koichiro Asano,T. Nakajima,Tsuyoshi Oguma,Yusuke Suzuki,Tetsuya Shiomi,Koichi Sayama,Kyoko Niimi,Misa Wakaki,Junko Kagyo,Eiji Ikeda,Hiroyuki Hirai,Kazuhiro Yamaguchi,Akitoshi Ishizaka +13 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that intratracheal administration of PGD2 in rats pretreated with systemic interleukin-5 (IL-5) injection induced marked airway eosinophilia, and CRTH2 plays a significant role in the eOSinophil trafficking from the bloodstream into the airways in PGD 2-related airway inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclooxygenase-2/Prostaglandin D2/CRTH2 Pathway Mediates Double-Stranded RNA-Induced Enhancement of Allergic Airway Inflammation
Yoshiki Shiraishi,Koichiro Asano,Kyoko Niimi,Koichi Fukunaga,Misa Wakaki,Junko Kagyo,Takahisa Takihara,Soichiro Ueda,T. Nakajima,Tsuyoshi Oguma,Yusuke Suzuki,Tetsuya Shiomi,Koichi Sayama,Shizuko Kagawa,Eiji Ikeda,Hiroyuki Hirai,Kinya Nagata,Masataka Nakamura,Taku Miyasho,Akitoshi Ishizaka +19 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that COX-2-dependent production of PGD2 followed by eosinophil recruitment into the airways via a CRTH2 receptor are the major pathogenetic factors responsible for the dsRNA-induced enhancement of airway inflammation and responsiveness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of CYP2A6 deletion polymorphism with smoking habit and development of pulmonary emphysema
Naoto Minematsu,Hidetoshi Nakamura,M Iwata,Hiroki Tateno,T. Nakajima,S Takahashi,Seitaro Fujishima,K Yamaguchi +7 more
TL;DR: The CYP2A6del polymorphism may inhibit smokers from giving up smoking, but appears to function as a protective factor against the development of pulmonary emphysema independent of smoking habit.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute exacerbation of subclinical idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis triggered by hypofractionated stereotactic body radiotherapy in a patient with primary lung cancer and slightly focal honeycombing.
Atsuya Takeda,Tatsuji Enomoto,Naoko Sanuki,T. Nakajima,Toshiaki Takeda,Koichi Sayama,Etsuo Kunieda +6 more
TL;DR: A 70-year-old lung cancer patient with slight focal pulmonary honeycombing in whom subclinical idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis was exacerbated by SBRT is reported, which has important implications for the development of selection criteria prior to S BRT for pulmonary lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI
TLR3-Mediated Synthesis and Release of Eotaxin-1/CCL11 from Human Bronchial Smooth Muscle Cells Stimulated with Double-Stranded RNA
Kyoko Niimi,Koichiro Asano,Yoshiki Shiraishi,T. Nakajima,Misa Wakaki,Junko Kagyo,Takahisa Takihara,Yusuke Suzuki,Koichi Fukunaga,Tetsuya Shiomi,Tsuyoshi Oguma,Koichi Sayama,Kazuhiro Yamaguchi,Yukikazu Natori,Misako Matsumoto,Tsukasa Seya,Mutsuo Yamaya,Akitoshi Ishizaka +17 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that, by activating intracellular TLR3 in BSMC, respiratory RNA virus infections stimulate the production of CCL11 and enhance eosinophilic inflammation of the airways in the Th2-dominant microenvironment.
