ABSTRACT The antibacterial properties of nano-silver are well-known methods to combat microbes in many respects, and the coating process emphasized this phenomenon more to textile materials. With the advancement in promoting eco-friendly methods to synthesize silver, sweet Orange Peel extract was used to reduce Ag+ to Ag0. UV, XRD, SEM, EDX, and DLS were used to characterize and diagnose the formation of silver nanoparticles. The nanocrystallite size was measured using the Scherrer equation and the SEM images showed well-dispersed nanoparticles at pH levels 9 and 10. The treated cotton and flax fabrics were characterized by UV-vis, FTIR, SEM, and EDX to find the proper level of impregnation of silver nanoparticles onto the fabrics. The colorimetric results showed good distribution of coloronto both fabrics. They exhibited an increase in UV protection factor (UPF value raised from 5.47% to 12.95% for cotton and 3.36% to 4.11% for flax). The antibacterial efficacy was tested against Escherichia coli and the treated fabrics showed satisfactory resistance even after 10 consecutive washing cycles. The zone of inhibition was reported 15 mm and 14 mm (after 10 cycles) for cotton fabric and 14 mm and 10 mm (after 10 cycles) for flax fabric, respectively.

Eco-friendly Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles for Multifunctional Protective Cotton and Flax Fabrics

Performance of salt-tolerant Boro rice was investigated under the interaction effect of variety and different doses of potassium fertilizer, which is a part of the research for developing agriculture in coastal areas of Bangladesh. A field experiment was conducted at the research field of Agriculture department, Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Noakhali-3814. The experiment was carried out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications where two varieties viz. BINA dhan-8, BRRI dhan-28 and three doses of potassium viz. 120 kg/ha, 84 kg/ha and 36kg/ha were used as treatments. Plant height (cm), tillers/hill, grain/panicle, 1000 grain weight (g), grain yield (t/ha), straw yield (t/ha) and harvest index (%) were compared among varieties and treatments. Results revealed that only variety and only potassium fertilizer had non-significant influence but the interaction of variety and potassium fertilizer had a significant effect on the performance of salt-tolerant Boro rice. Therefore, the present study suggests that salt-tolerant BINA dhan-8 variety may be cultivated with 120 kg potassium/ha for obtaining higher yield in the southern coastal area of Bangladesh.

Interactive effect of variety and potassium fertilizer on the yield of salt-tolerant Boro rice

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed along with B3LYP/SDD theory to investigate the structural, optical and magnetic properties of both pristine B 6 and transition metal (TM) (Co, Ni, Rh, Pd) adsorbed B 6 structures. Ni adsorbed NiB 6 structure was concluded as the most stable among the investigated structures using adsorption energy calculations. This was supported by the thermodynamic parameters calculations. Negative values for the Gibbs free energy, the changes of thermal energy and entropy assures a spontaneous and ordered adsorption for all structures. Co and Rh doped structures show a magnetic moment and exhibits magnetic behavior. The optical properties were analyzed using UV Visible spectrum. CoB 6 and RhB 6 structure have a wide band gap where NiB 6 and PdB 6 absorb more energetic UV light.

First principle investigation of pristine and TM adsorbed B6 nanocluster: A comparative DFT study

The modulational instability of an electron plasma wave in a homogeneous, unmagnetized, hot, and collisionless dusty plasma has been investigated analytically. The Vlasov equation has been solved perturbatively to find the nonlinear response of the plasma particles with random static distribution of massive and charged dust grains having certain correlation. It is noticed that the growth rate of the modulational instability of the electron plasma wave through a new ultra-low-frequency dust mode is more efficient than that through the usual ion-acoustic mode in the dusty plasma.

In this research, density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed using widely accepted B3LYP/SDD theory to investigate the structural and electronic properties of both pristine B 8 and transition metal (TM) (V, Cr, Mn) adsorbed B 8 structures. Several properties like ionization potential, total energy, zero point energy, dipole moment etc. were enhanced and HOMO-LUMO energy gap was also increased due to the adsorption of TM atoms on B 8 nanocluster. In terms of the binding energy, TM adsorbed structures can be ordered as $\text{CrB}_{8} > \text{MnB}_{8} > \text{VB}_{8}$ which indicates that the most stable TM adsorbed structure in our case is CrB 8 . Binding energy investigation for stability of the structures has been also validated by the analysis of thermodynamic parameters such as Gibbs free energy ( $\Delta \mathrm{G}$ ), enthalpy ( $\Delta \mathrm{H}$ ) and entropy ( $\Delta \mathrm{S}$ ). Finally, global indices with chemical potential were also calculated.
