A vehicle-side connector (10) connected to a battery provided to a vehicle is provided with: an outer housing (31) fixed to a body of the vehicle; an inner housing (50) fitted to the outer housing (31) from an inner side of the vehicle; terminal fittings (11) connected respectively to a plurality of electrical wires (20P, 20S) drawn from within the vehicle including the battery; a plurality of terminal accommodation chambers (53, 40) which are provided extending from the inner housing (50) to the outer housing (31), and which have, inserted from the rear thereof and accommodated therein, each of the terminal fittings (11); a retainer (60) capable of being attached to the inner housing (50) so as to engage with and retain each of the terminal fittings (11); and lock mechanisms (47, 70) for locking the retainer (60) and the outer housing (31) in a coupled state.

Vehicle side connector

The introduction of system voltages higher than 24 VDC in vehicles, forces considerable component and system changes regarding reliability and electrical safety. In the instance of an arc fault, e.g., when a wire is cut, pinched, chafed or breaks under load, or an arc is drawn between disconnecting terminals, the resulting fault current may be significantly lower than the trip current of common protection devices such as fuses or circuit breakers. In these cases, the fault is cleared late (depending on the time/current characteristics) or, in some cases, not at all. The authors discuss different types of arc faults and introduce approaches to deal with them.

Mitigation and analysis of arc faults in automotive DC networks

Engaging portions of an ultrasonic sensor apparatus are engaged with engaging portions of a holding member at a first angular position of the ultrasonic sensor apparatus when the ultrasonic sensor apparatus is axially installed to the holding member, which is in turn installed to a bumper. At the time of uninstalling the sensor apparatus from the holding member, one of the engaging portions is radially outwardly disengaged from a corresponding one of the engaging portions of the holding member, and then the sensor apparatus is rotated to a second angular position to release engagement between the rest of the engaging portions of the sensor apparatus and the rest of the engaging portions of the holding member. Thereafter, the sensor apparatus is axially pulled away from the holding member to uninstall the sensor apparatus from the holding member.

Ultrasonic sensor assembly

A connector includes a first connector having a first connector housing which supports plural first connection terminals in its inside and a second connector having a second connector housing which supports plural second connection terminals connected to the plural first connection terminals in its inside. At least one magnetic member disposed in the first connector housing or second connector housing. The magnetic member is disposed to be held between leading ends of the plural first connection terminals or between leading ends of the plural second connection terminals, and a magnetic field is generated in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the both first and second connection terminals are inserted during a period of time from complete engagement of the first and second members to complete disengagement thereof, or a period of time from complete disengagement of the first and second connectors to complete engagement thereof.

Connector and electric connection structure

A gasket of an elastic material is housed in a ring-shaped groove formed on the front face of a flange of a connector housing. By bringing the front face into contact with a contact face of a mating member, the space between the mating member and the flange of the connector housing is sealed with the gasket. An L-shaped locking arm is provided on the outer periphery of the ring-shaped gasket to be housed in the ring-shaped groove. The locking arm juts out sideward along the front face of the flange, and then is bent backward leaving the front face. A T-shaped hook is integrally provided to the tip of the locking arm. A receiving portion with a locking slot is provided in a side portion of the flange. The locking arm is engaged, by its own elasticity, with the locking slot, and the hook is engaged with the back face of the receiving portion.

A power supply device for realizing an electrical connection structure comprises a wire harness arranged to electrically connect a body with a sliding door and having both ends fixed thereto and a bendable middle portion. A slider is arranged to contact the middle portion of the wire harness and move in synchronization with slide movement to guide the wire harness in a parallel direction. A box-shaped protector having a housing space to house the slider together with the middle portion of the wire harness therein is disposed on the sliding door. The slider is actuated toward the side to which a bent portion protrudes.

Electrical connection structure

A passive method is provided as alignment means for aligning an optical fiber with an optical element in assembling an optical module, while increasing alignment accuracy. A mount (28 a) equipped with an optical element (3 a) is positioned by abutment on a face (33 c) of a projection (33 a) formed inside a package (33) and on a side (33 g) of a positioning pad (37) projecting from the bottom (33 f) of the package. A mount (28 b) equipped with an optical element (3 b) is positioned by abutment on an inner wall (33 b) of the package and on a face (33 i) of a projection (33 c) formed inside the package. Since the optical power of received or emitted light need not be monitored for fine adjustments of alignment, this method is less expensive.

A power supply apparatus for a vehicular sliding door is provided, including a power supply line electrically coupled to a power supply; a power supply line protector including a rectangular-shaped case and disposed in the vehicular sliding door, in which the power supply line is housed in a bent state; a power supply line path in the case which controls the bent line; a slider received in, and slidable along, a length of the case; an extension spring by which the slider is urged toward one end side of the case; and a slit-shaped opening in an underside of the case; wherein a side portion of the line is drawn out through the slit-shaped opening and secured to a vehicle body side; and wherein a power supply line portion, which has been drawn out from another end side of the case, is connected to appliances inside the door.
