Journal ArticleDOI
Resistant and susceptible responses in tomato to cyst nematode are differentially regulated by salicylic acid.
TL;DR: It is found that PR-1(P4) was a hallmark for the cultivar resistance conferred by Hero A against PCN and that nematode parasitism resulted in the inhibition of the SA signaling pathway in the susceptible cultivars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative serial analysis of gene expression of transcript profiles of tomato roots infected with cyst nematode
TL;DR: Their SAGE results showed significant changes in expression of many unreported genes involved in nematode infection, and over 20% of the tags that were upregulated in the infected root have unknown functions (non-annotated), suggesting that the authors can obtain information on previously unreported and uncharacterized genes by SAGE.
Journal ArticleDOI
A simple, sensitive, specific detection of mixed infection of multiple plant viruses using macroarray and microtube hybridization
TL;DR: A simple, sensitive and specific method using a cDNA macroarray to detect multiple viruses was devised, and lily viruses including Cucumber mosaic virus, Lily symptomless virus, and Lily mottle virus were detected successfully from leaves or roots of lily bulbs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decrease in Globodera rostochiensis (Wollenweber) (Nematode: Heteroderidae) population density on resistant tomato cultivars in greenhouse trials
TL;DR: The effectiveness of cyst nematode-resistant potato cultivars in reducing the population of PCN in greenhouse trials is investigated and several tomato cultivars and rootstock cultivars are found that show strong resistance to PCN.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of the potato cyst nematode resistance gene Hero A in Japanese tomato cultivars by the PCR-RFLP method
TL;DR: A distinct DNA marker for Hero A was developed and these new distinct polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) markers were evaluated to evaluate the Detection of the potato cyst nematode resistance gene Hero A in Japanese tomato cultivars by the PCR- RFLP method.
