Journal ArticleDOI
A novel inflammation-related mouse colon carcinogenesis model induced by azoxymethane and dextran sodium sulfate.
Takuji Tanaka,Hiroyuki Kohno,Rikako Suzuki,Yasuhiro Yamada,Yasuhiro Yamada,Shigeyuki Sugie,Shigeyuki Sugie,Hideki Mori,Hideki Mori +8 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that 1‐week administration of 2% DSS after initiation with a low dose of AOM exerts a powerful tumor‐promoting activity in Colon carcinogenesis in male ICR mice, and may provide a novel mouse model for investigating colitis‐related colon carcinogenesis and for identifying xenobiotics with modifying effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Size Control of Monodispersed Pt Nanoparticles and Their 2D Organization by Electrophoretic Deposition
TL;DR: In this article, a simple method to control the size of monodispersed Pt nanoparticles with the use of an alcohol reduction is described. But this method is not suitable for nanoparticles of arbitrary diameter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention of second primary tumors by an acyclic retinoid, polyprenoic acid, in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Hepatoma Prevention Study Group
Yasutoshi Muto,Hisataka Moriwaki,Mitsuo Ninomiya,Sadashi Adachi,Akiko Saito,Ken Takasaki,Takuji Tanaka,Kaito Tsurumi,Masataka Okuno,Eiichi Tomita,Toshiyuki Nakamura,Takao Kojima +11 more
TL;DR: Treatment with polyprenoic acid significantly reduced the incidence of recurrent or new hepatomas in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and prevents second primary hepatomas after surgical resection of the original tumor or the percutaneous injection of ethanol.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cancer Chemoprevention by Carotenoids
TL;DR: Cancer prevention using carotenoids is reviewed and the possible mechanisms of action are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 in stem cells and cancer
TL;DR: The functions and mechanisms of ALDH1A1, the key ALDH isozyme linked to SC populations and an important contributor to CSC function in cancers, are reviewed, and its potential in future anticancer strategies is outlined.
