Journal ArticleDOI

Productive performance, eggshell quality, and eggshell ultrastructure of laying hens fed diets supplemented with organic trace minerals

TL;DR: The best results were obtained using diets supplemented with trace minerals from an organic source because these diets provided lower egg loss, higher thickness, and increased strength of the shell.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morpho-physical recording of bovine conceptus (Bos indicus) and placenta from days 20 to 70 of pregnancy.

TL;DR: An 'embryo/foetal age-scale' of early bovine intrauterine development provides model for studies, even when using slaughtered cows without distinct knowledge of insemination or fertilization time, through macroscopic techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vascular Organization of the Hystricomorph Placenta: a Comparative Study in the Agouti, Capybara, Guinea Pig, Paca and Rock Cavy

TL;DR: The placental vasculature of five hystricomorph rodents was examined by latex injection of the blood vessels, immunohistochemistry and scanning electron microscopy of vessel casts and the pattern of branching of the vessels is described at the level of fine structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Light and Scanning Electron Microcopy Study of the Tongue in Rhea americana

TL;DR: Despite the rudimentary characteristic of the tongue in rhea, the results suggest an important role of tongue secretions in food lubrication and humidification during the swallowing process, based on the enormous quantity of lingual glands in the submucosa and the histochemical characteristics of their secretions.
