Techniques for generating a virtual private container (VPC) are disclosed. In one embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a virtual container defining a self-contained software environment, comprising one or more analytic components configured to carry out specified analytic functions on data within the container, wherein the one or more analytic components are isolated to run within the self-contained software environment of the container; an interface configured to identify and authenticate a particular user and provide analysis results generated by the one or more analytic components; and a gateway configured to receive data from one or more secure data sources external to the virtual container and associated with the particular user for use by the one or more analytic components.

Techniques for generating a virtual private container

Systems and methods for discovery of a controller in an OpenFlow network may include using an OpenFlow capable switch to discover the controller without the help of other components, such as DHCP. The link discovery protocol may be configured on the switch and the discovery process may use an out-of-band or an in-band communication. In one example, a link discovery protocol packet is sent out of all ports of a switch that meet the eligibility criteria. The response is guaranteed because of a TTL like mechanism in the packet. Each port on a switch that receives this link discovery protocol packet takes an action depending on its current state.

Systems and methods for discovery of a controller in openflow networks

Some embodiments provide a method for a particular forwarding element (FE) in a network of FEs. The method receives a packet at the particular FE. The packet includes a packet header that includes, for each of multiple FEs along a path from a source of the packet to a destination of the packet, (i) an identifier for the FE and (ii) a set of one or more actions for the FE to perform on the packet. The method parses the packet header to identify the set of actions for the particular FE. The method performs the identified set of actions.

Execution of packet-specified actions at forwarding element

A more efficient wireless network can utilize network elements, a service controller, and agents associated with the network elements. Each network element can publish state information and resource information so that other network elements and the service controller can readily identify which network element has available resources. Therefore, each network element can be a resource consumer and a resource provider. Additionally, the network elements can register with the service controller and/or allow agents to act on their behalf in order to generate a more efficient network.

System for indirect border gateway protocol routing

One or more processors receive a notification of a failure of a first delivery device of a plurality of delivery devices of an OpenFlow network, to deliver a data packet. One or more processors determine the flows of flow tables belonging to delivery devices that are affected as a result of the failure of the first delivery device. The flows are determined by accessing an index of flow mappings maintained in cache storage in which at least one of the affected flows includes a pattern of information fields and actions that match a pattern of information fields and actions of the data packet, and one or more processors send instructions to the delivery devices of the network to perform an asynchronous activity on respective flow tables of the delivery devices that include the flows affected as a result of the failure of the first delivery device.
