Nanostructural inhomogeneities acting as pinning centers in bulk MgB2 with low and enhanced grain connectivity
Tatiana Prikhna,Michael Eisterer,Harald W. Weber,Wolfgang Gawalek,Valeriy Kovylaev,Myroslav Karpets,Tetyana Basyuk,Viktor Moshchil +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, structural inhomogeneities in the MgB2 matrix are observed in all materials independently of the preparation method, pressure (0.1?MPa?2?GPa), temperature (600?1100??C), and in materials with different connectivity (18?98%) and density (55?99%).
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis Pressure–Temperature Effect on Pinning in MgB2-Based Superconductors
Tetiana Prikhna,Michael Eisterer,Wolfgang Gawalek,Artem Kozyrev,H. W. Weber,Vladimir Sokolovsky,Xavier Chaud,Jacques G. Noudem,Tobias Habisreuther,Viktor Moshchil,Myroslav Karpets,Tetyana Basyuk,Valeriy Kovylaev,Jan Dellith,V. B. Sverdun,Roman Kuznietsov,Christa Shmidt,T. Vitovetskaya,L. O. Polikarpova +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the volume pinning force increases with increasing synthesis or sintering pressure (0.1 MPa-2 GPa), while it stays practically unchanged in those prepared at low temperature (800-°C).
Journal ArticleDOI

Klimenko,D. V. Turkevich,Sergey Dub,Tetyana Basyuk,Myroslav Karpets,Viktor Moshchil,Artem Kozyrev,G. D. Il’nitskaya,V. V. Kovylyaev,T. Cabiosh,Patrick Chartier +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used thermal analysis and differential thermal analysis to study the resistance to air oxidation of high-density samples of Ti3AlC2, Ti2AlC and Ti2C(C1−xNx) solid solutions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermal Stability and Mechanical Characteristics of Densified Ti3AlC2-Based Material
Tatiana Prikhna,Orest Ostash,Tetyana Basyuk,Andriy Ivasyshyn,V. B. Sverdun,M. G. Loshak,Sergey Dub,Viktoriya Podgurska,Viktor Moshchil,Thierry Cabioc’h,Patrick Chartier,Myroslav Karpets,Valeriy Kovylaev,Olexandra Starostina,Artem Kozyrev +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the mechanical properties and temperature stability in air and hydrogen of the highly dense (ρ=4.27 g/cm3, porosity 1 %) material based on nanolaminated MAX phase Ti3AlC2 manufactured by hot pressing (at 30 MPa) have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pinning in $\hbox{MgB}_{2}$ - and YBaCuO-Based Superconductors: Effect of Manufacturing Pressure and Temperature
Tetiana Prikhna,Michael Eisterer,H. W. Weber,Wolfgang Gawalek,Xavier Chaud,Vladimir Sokolovsky,Viktor Moshchil,Artem Kozyrev,V. B. Sverdun,Roman Kuznietsov,Tobias Habisreuther,Myroslav Karpets,Valeriy Kovylaev,Jacques G. Noudem,Jacques Rabier,A. Joulain,Wilfried Goldacker,Tetyana Basyuk,V. N. Tkach,Jan Dellith,Ch. Schmidt,A. V. Shaternik +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the transformation of grain boundary pinning to point pinning in MgB2-based materials with increasing manufacturing temperature from 800 to 1050°C under pressures from 0.1 MPa to 2 GPa correlates well with an increase in critical current density in low and intermediate magnetic fields and with the redistribution of boron and oxygen in the material structure.
